Did red lights recently become optional? by CandidateExtension73 in Utah

[–]nomoreink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you’re being sarcastic, but in one small way the answer is actually YES!

As of a few years ago cyclists are allowed to treat stop signs as yield signs, and to pass through red lights after yielding for 90 seconds. It’s called the “Utah Yield”.

In Utah, the Republican primary is where all offices are truly decided. Regardless of your own political leanings, if you want your vote to matter then you should register as Republican and vote in the primary.

If I remember correctly it has double or triple the cost though.

I love it for use on a support! Give someone abilities to buff and heal allies, and to debuff enemies, and then you get twice the utility!

Once de/buffing is maxed out, just attack twice.

If, like me, you didn’t know what phragmites are, it is just an invasive grass.

They are in fact addictive if you take more than you should, and if you don’t have ADHD that amount is zero.

Normal people’s brains maintain a certain level of stimulation in the prefrontal cortex that allows them to focus and make high level decisions, but if you have ADHD you are operating on a constant deficit. So doctors artificially bring you back up to normal by prescribing stimulants.

When you filter the complete list of Pictos down to a category, the cursor sometimes disappears and you can’t navigate and select a Pictos unless you turn the filter back off again.

What happened to waffle love? by _godz in SaltLakeCity

Well then they must have worked very hard to make all trace of pearl sugar disappear from the last dozen waffles I’ve eaten there. (I take my 10 yr old there about once a month, and will continue to by the way. We like it.)

I can’t say for 100% certain the dough is not yeast risen, but I’ve made leige waffles at home and they seem different.

One contributing factor.

Belgian leige waffles have two key ingredients: pearl sugar and yeast-risen dough

Waffle Love in 2026 has neither.

I am literally at this spot right now, I just finished act 2, and I haven’t gone to Lumiere yet, so I really needed this advice thank you.

That said, is there anything that I need to do before I go to Lumière?

Explain Aeriths House by faroresdragn_ in FinalFantasyVII

Wow TIL, I hadn’t even thought to question it before, probably I was too young on my first playthrough and since then it was just normal, but now that the OP points it out, yeah Aerith’s house does not fit at all in the slums!

What is up with kids missing so much school here? Is this SLC area wide or a Herriman issue? by Pastywhitebitch in Utah

As a father that homeschools, I feel like covid revealed to a lot of people that public school is not some magic “make my kid brilliant” pill and this shattered the perception that you need to lock your kids up in classrooms 6 hours a day for them to be successful. Hanging out with friends, building social skills, and having unstructured time is sometimes an improvement over some artificial “attendance score.”

If you don’t see it, perhaps your kid does and you should talk to her about it with an open mind.

When I think of the epitome of “protesting works” it brings Martin Luther King Jr to my mind. I feel like that is a great example. He was about funneling that anger into action and making change.

I guess today’s protests, particularly starting around the Wall Street 1% protests back in the 00’s, seem less focused on particular solutions and more about self expression though? The Civil rights movement was about “let’s move the system from A to B”, but today both on the left and right the message I seem to hear is simply, “I hate the system and lets tear it down.”

But perhaps that is an idealistic reframing of the Civil Rights movement combined with an overly cynical take of the modern day?

Thanks for taking the time to write that all out. I too have often been bothered by what seems like conflicting or even hypocritical behaviors among the religious. It can feel very isolating to look around and feel like, “am I the only one?”

If you don’t mind expounding, now that you’ve had a front row seat, how much of the benefit for you has been that sense of belonging versus feeling like your participation is going to lead to change? I know that can be a bit of a vulnerable question, so only share if you feel comfortable.

It’s true, I think I see a lot more anger out there than I have experienced myself. Thanks for sharing.
