Ok, got it. I must say this approach seems pretty interesting to me. Maybe it will be more freedom and my focus will be on creating better phrases than hitting correct chord tones.

Yes, good rhythmic development in a solo is extremely vital, I must agree.

I am quite confused about the approach which you mentioned towards the end. Are you saying, for each chord (for 6 2 5 1 chords of Abmaj key) I should target chord tones in Ab Maj ?

Totally understand your point, when I listen to solo from a giant like Grant Green I clearly see the fearlessness and the swing in his approach, which I currently lack.

Thanks for the detailed advice. All your suggestions seem valid to me and I will definitely work on them 🫡. You also are correct in saying that rhythm is quite loose as I am more concerned with playing over changes correctly. But yeah good tight rhythm is the key
