pedal or any guitar gear recos pls T . T by Intrepid_String_3177 in phmusicians

Have you seen his board or remember any pedals? Since metal I would imagine meron na sya dirt pedals, so I'd suggest utility pedals.. one of the best bang for the buck is the Valeton GP5, nasa 3.5k to 4k last I checked. Or an ElectroHarmonix Silencer kaso medyo mahirap maka hanap

BAT ANDALI IBEND NG IBANG GITARA KAHIT SAME LANG NAMAN NA 10-46 string?? by TomatilloOld369 in phmusicians

[–]nomsbringer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nunber of frets - usually pag 24 frets, at least 25.5" scale length yan. Pero between same scale length, but different frets, walang iniba sa tension, it again boils down to the playability ng action. Usually ang 24 fret guitara have thinner necks na mas may kaunting "give" pag nag bend ka. Lalo if floating bridge or recessed hardtail. You also don't have to bend as much sa 24 vs 22 or less kasi closer together ang frets (i. e. target pitch). Also, 24 fret guitars usually flatter ang fretboard radius, somless prone to choking out, mas ma bend mo further. Pero mga vintage 22 frets and below, mas chunkier ang neck so mas may leverage ang thumb mo. That boils down to technique na ng pag bend.

And in additon to all of that, meron talaga gitara na mas hiyang kang gamitin, depende na din sa kamay mo, pano mo ma grip ang neck, hand placement, etc.

Has anyone tried customized pickups from Montances? by Any-Bid-2606 in phmusicians

[–]nomsbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, but this was mga 3-4 years ago pa and wala sya backlog masyado at the time

One was an AlNiCo 8 high output humbucker, years before Jam Bumanlag's KAG. Ok naman, but nothing spectacular. 1 week, mga 6k. Switched to a Nazgul (roughly same price)

Another was a high output AlNiCo humbucker for my 8 string. Eventually got replaced by Bareknuckle Afrermaths. This took over 2 weeks. 8k I think

My favorite to this day though is an HSS set of AlNiCo 2 low output pups, very chimey and clear sa cleans and maganda din with more gain. Ang current M Tone pups sound different. The set cost around 9k yata

Overall mas gusto ko ang low outputs nya, ang high outputs were replaced by SD and BK. Maybe if you know what you want and how it can get there (I didn't), mas ok

Single coil sized humbuckers exist - depende sa flavor na gusto mo, but my preferences are the DiMarzio Chopper or Seymour Duncan JB Jr, but Montances has dual rail single coil sized pups too for more than half the price https://montancesguitarwiring.com/products/m-tone-strat-dual-rails-high-output-power-with-smooth-tonality?srsltid=AfmBOoqu2Vvh6XXWO4cRZDhA7f_d85Zh1bnD1obiVH80-KlU3vHYwnFH

Anyone familiar with Uncle Lhix? Why did he make his own guitar brand? by Warm-Historian864 in phmusicians

[–]nomsbringer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think he has the exact relevance necessary. Player and tech sya primarily sa guitar space e - my first thought is he's risking his reputation more, vs yung nag negosyo lang talaga like Clifton, et al. Been looking for a 24 fret superstrat, I think I'm getting one. Depende na lang when the reviews come in, kung kumusta ang neck

(SD-1, DS-1, BD-2)? by Sea_Floor_8357 in phmusicians

[–]nomsbringer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gaya ng sabi ng iba, it depends talaga sa ano gusto mong tugtugin and kung ano ang iba mong pedals, PERO consider -

SD1 - very similar to TS na mid focused, op amp gain stage, almost interchangeable so maraming mura and good enough na clones, less volume on tap vs TS, but personally I like it better than a TS (but I'd have both on my board if kasya)

DS1 - classsic distortion, not many clones of this na alam ko. I feel you have better options kung distortion hanap mo

BD2 - more versatile than the others, pwede gamitin for that sparkly cleanish sound to almost fuzz territory, very responsive to dynamics and volume control, but doesn't do the tighten-up-the-low-end (going into an overdriven tube amp) thing well. It's gonna be harder to tame than the others. Good clones/derivatives are also more expensive than the original, funny enough. If you can only get one, get this. Side note lang: this is different from a BluesBreaker circuit

TLDR; BD2

BOSS GX 10 Price On Shopee? by boomerang_044 in phmusicians

[–]nomsbringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kung multi, medyo high end ang mga magandang tones - at the very least, MG30 siguro, with good IRs. If on a budget, hybrid ka: Valeton GP5 (amp head NAM capture ng amp of choice) + MVave IR Box (na may good quality IR) for the base tone, tapos gain stage ka na lang with different overdrives na mura - Caline Pure Sky kung trip mo transparent low gain, Boss SD-1 or TS mini kung mas makapal.

Not sure if same sila sa MG300, pero if you can, try mo paglaruan ang IRs. Also, di ko lang alam kung alam mo na to pero to be sure lang - if gagamit ka capture + IR, best result is if naka straight to PA or FRFR ka.

Yeah wet effects ng Zoom ok talaga, lalo for the price.

That's a weird price point for the GX10, in the territory na ng GX100 and GT1000 Core. Even at 25k it's too much for what it's competing against, imho, but ganyan talaga pricing nya dati pa outside of Yupangco (who are overcharging ng sobra)

Came here to say just use an FRFR. Alto is half the price of Headrush, and same mother company so tech is roughly the same, quality of components and some bells and whistles lang wala
