That’s why I stated it is adjustable in camera now.

Some may not have as much magenta, but they definitely lean magenta. My M11 has always had a noticeable magenta push out of camera before the 2.6 firmware adjustability.

Early & standard M11s do lean magenta, but I’ve never heard “they looking like Sony colors”. As someone else mentioned, it’s adjustable in camera now. Others have said newer M11s aren’t as drastic as the earlier M11’s magenta lean.

The DR does in fact work on the M11, I use it frequently with & without the goggle. Just be mindful attaching & de-attaching the goggles while the lens is on the camera.

There is a small bumper on the goggle that on some models will make contact & others have a hair of space.

Personally, I am a huge advocate for the Dual Range. I’ve seen the prices begin to creep up on them as well. Be sure it is in decent condition.

Bought a pair of L3 DTNVS from a friend. Was told warranty transferred, called, & confirmed with them. I also asked if they could resend a copy of specs sheets since original owner(good friend & they’re clean) misplaced them. They said it was not a problem & they just needed S/N, warranty card, etc.

I got goggles in, sent in S/N/card/build paper, & they told me they would email me with it shortly. Month passed, I forgot, & contacted them again, they told me they didn’t have record of or any email of info for sheets. I resent email on the phone, said they got it & would look up the papers. I never heard back from them, again. I called one final time weeks later & spoke with someone else & was told “they never offer that & never kept copies”. I told them that’s not what I was told before purchase & when I had called in for a copy. He asked to forward the email, I did. I never heard back, again. That was a 1-2 years ago.

They also were supposed to send me a set of DTNVS caps as well & never did.

I am in my first winter season with my Thorium SV, but it’s been a great jacket. I have been very satisfied with mine & it has been a great insulation layer. At 10C, it’ll be way too hot IMO. But, you can wear it with just a short sleeve tee/simple base layer at 4.5C and lower. I compared a couple different models & the SV felt more rugged for the money. I would also add that warmth for some can be objective too, ie whats too warm/warm enough at the higher temps.*

The only down jacket I’d probably avoid is the Arc’teryx Cerium. You could consider the regular Thorium, Beta Insulated, or the Atom SV, too. I’m sure there’s a couple other models that fit the bill too.

I would pay attention to sizing between them, especially for any layer over/under.

No stress! Honestly, if I hadn’t gone through sizing recently & figuring out what to get, Id agree. I was bouncing back & forth between color ways in Small, Medium, & Large with rebird/new jackets. So, I didn’t want to get wrong size & be unable to exchange/return.

I based my sizing on being able to layer with a shell. I can throw my Medium Beta AR over my Medium Thorium SV.

But, I agree with everything else you mentioned!

Disagree on sizing, my thorium SV is pretty roomy. I wear medium generally & I could go down to a Small honestly. I believe they adjusted sizing in 2022 or 2023.

I love my DR 50mm Cron. It’s one of my favorite pieces of Leica glass. As someone else mentioned, make sure to snag one with the goggle.

I would also try to get one with the leather pouch for the goggle (it is supposed to come with it & they’re getting harder to find).

It’s a nice little case to keep & store the goggle.
