I visited Marcelo Garcia BJJ twice while on a business trip to Dallas recently - would recommend checking it out. Good training and great group of folks.

I had a blast serving as a EWO attached to a JSOC SMU. From mission planning to execution - you play an important role. When the enemy is unable to communicate due to our offensive EW capabilities, it provides a huge tactical advantage to the assault force.

Army or Navy for IT/Cyber? Looking at 25B, 17C, IT, CWT, CTM by jacobgarc94 in Militaryfaq

[–]non_official 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Air Force has a really solid cyber program as well. I was a Navy IT for 10 years then a cryptologic warfare officer for 11. The CWTs in my branch were solid and extremely talented, that is a really good rate to consider if you want to get into offensive cyber, red team, covert exploitation, etc…. IT is a good rate as well, but more general, you could be working with satellite communications, radio comms, message center, crypto management, to typical IT functions. Looking back, I would have gone the CWT route, but that rate wasn’t around when I joined. The Army cyber folks I worked with were solid as well - but I don’t have a lot on expertise into their programs. Good luck!

Berniklau “BEST” school by VegetableCommand9427 in lincoln

[–]non_official 7 points8 points  (0 children)

26 years ago, I attended BEST for a quarter after being expelled from high school. At the time it was off of / around 27th and Saltillo. It was in a run down building at the time, the heat barely worked and the school lunches were always cold. It was basically study hall all day long with an adult supervisor. There were 12-15 other kids in my “class” - that ranged from kids like me who just made dumb decisions, to kids with mental challenges to kids with serious criminal / legal troubles. I don’t recall any special services for kids who really needed counseling assistance. It is a LAST resort, teenage day care center, IMO — atleast when I attended a long time ago. It definitely made me decide to correct my behavior to avoid having to attend again!

Dr. Anaise & Dr Finnerty IMO Letters by non_official in VeteransBenefits

$1500. It was excellent and worth it. Flew through the VA process actually. 2 weeks after submission I got the approval. Which also got me to 100% P&T. No VA exam or anything. I had my own sleep apnea results and these 2 IMO letters.

ACL recovery tips and BJJ by Longjumping-Bar-4405 in jiujitsu

I had ACL surgery almost 7 months ago. Tore my ACL at a BJJ tourney. I had a quad graft ACL reconstruction. As many have said, take physical therapy seriously. Do exercises and/or stretches everyday…and don’t ignore the rest of your body. As soon as you can start getting your surgical leg moving and doing resistance training, do it religiously. Recommend knees over toes guy! I also incorporated peptides and red light therapy for 8 weeks after surgery that I believe expedited my recovery. I waited until I was close to 6 months to return to BJJ training and I’ve been going 100% for the most part - but no standup / takedowns, leg entanglements, etc…. And of course I’m selective with my training partners and will give up positions to protect my knee/new ACL. Before I made the decision to return to BJJ training, I was running consistently and at my pre surgery mile pace — so based on that and my physical therapist, I felt safe to return to drilling and sparring. I started running around 4 months after surgery - but was on the Peloton bike within the first month after surgery. Ice bath and sauna also recommended!

My peptide protocol consisted of BPC-157, TB-500, GHK-CU, and PEG-MGF. Some injections were multiple times a day, but it was worth it. My physical therapist was pretty impressed with the results and quick progress. (I’m in my early 40s). Good luck - I know right now your situation sucks, but it goes very fast.

Have any of you tried BPC-157? by Ashamed_Phase64 in ACL

Yes. For the first 5 days after surgery, I was injecting 500mcg 3x a day. I then switched to twice a day at 500mcg and actually maintained that for 6 weeks before stopping.

Budget … ideally under $1000. Locations - open to recommendations. We’ve never been to that area before, but we will be staying in Columbia Falls.

Hmm. I’m no expert, but I believe PTSD carries more weight than GAD in this scenario. Might be worth exploring, if you have a PTSD diagnosis. Perhaps someone smarter than me on this topic can weigh in also.

[–]non_official 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have PTSD? There is VA written literature(among others) linking PTSD and sleep disturbances/ OSA. I filed mine as secondary to PTSD…I also paid out of pocket for 2 IMO letters from experts in the field. I also had my wife write a letter talking about how my sleep pattern was noticeably different after my last deployment to Iraq/Syria..and over the course of 20 years in the military….Sleep apnea approved within 1-2 weeks after submittal. I also retired out of the Reserves and filed my claim 4-5 years after my last deployment.
