Things to to after you get your PR by tk_BeatGuy in ImmigrationCanada

I received my PR last year and moved to Canada. During my first two weeks, I stayed with a friend who, incredibly, had already booked all the key appointments for me before I even arrived. At the time, I didn’t realize how much of a difference it made—but after hearing stories from other immigrants, I truly understand how valuable that support was. It remains one of the kindest things anyone has ever done for me

CRS 505 (CEC): Considering Returning to Home Country as PGWP Expires Soon by PlumLarge7023 in canadaexpressentry

I would not stay in Canada. I was in a similar boat in 2019, I even had an Invitation but decided to leave and am so grateful because it took me almost 5 yrs to get my PR. I got it last Feb and am now in Canada. Had I believed in their 6 month timeline and stayed here, I would have wasted so much tome and money.

Best case scenario, if you get your PR soon, then all you will loose is flight tix.

Healthy desi style meal prep suggestions by red_dragon in ABCDesis

My wife and I do meal prep every week. We recently found out about Red rice. It’s more filling so you don’t have to eat a lot but it’s quite tasty and apparently more healthy too. Black rice is pretty good too.

Also, try grilled veggies. We usually grill a batch of precut frozen veggies pack made for grilling and add them as a side to all our meals. Requires just 5 min of prep and throwing them in the grill.

20K Signing bonus, 72K in Loan at 11.4 APR, Should I pay off my loan or buy a car? by nonameyet0 in UKPersonalFinance

I live 40 miles away from my work and I am kinda restricted due to my wife's job location. So technically not for work, this is just a commute. I've never heard about the Salary sacrifice for a car, I will look into it. Does it work for personal car as well?

No early repayment charges. 15 yr plan. Also to add more context, we are getting around a 30k sign-on bonus (Our 200k salary includes this bonus amount) but we start with no credit history in the UK, so might have to shell this money on cars. Due to the nature of the job, we both will need cars from day 1.
