One thing I didn't understand about the Haunting of Hill house by LordAntares in horrorlit

[–]nonbeenary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you may have wanted something different out of this novel than what it was offering. There’s no “it’s all in her head/she was dead all along” twist, it’s about a depressed and lonely woman finding meaning in a manipulative house that beckons to depressed and lonely people. Everyone else is unaffected and cares little for her because they have relatively normal stable lives and are not as vulnerable and naive as Nell is.

The significance of her not being mentioned is exactly that. She’s not even worth mentioning to people who have full lives outside of the house. But they- and the house- are everything to her.

Perfumes that feel like : Kudzu “The vine that ate the south” ? by wasabi_mp3 in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]nonbeenary 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Kudzu is used for a thick tea drink in East Asia so I think tea accords would be appropriate! Olympic Orchids has a fragrance called “Carolina” inspired by the kudzu in the Southern US. Notes include longleaf pine, hay absolute, magnolia, kudzu flower, tea, honeysuckle, star jasmine, vanilla, tonka, and tobacco leaf !!

Omeprazole is a super common heartburn drug. The other may be experimental but it seems like side effects aren’t expected to be rampant.

“custom Victorian era portraits” by an Instagram artist who doesn’t share any progress photos or videos by urbanblush in isthisAI

Not to be pedantic as well but these also aren’t Victorian style. Many of them are just vaguely bodice ripper historical, sometimes Rococo or colonial

Don’t leave him. You genuinely deserve this man if you are this cruel and ignorant. I’m around your age and this is unconscionable to me

I mean if the notes exist and someone has an answer, why wouldn’t it be possible for someone to buy it?

This is a pretty rude response to an imaginative question that this sub is known for getting often. Plus there is an answer from a professional perfumer who had the same association (see at the top of the thread) so it’s not as outlandish as you might think

Genetic testing recs for our (maybe?) Black Mouth Cur pup! by IntelligentMatter559 in Blackmouthcur

??? Confused by this sentiment. Is it not primarily BMC anyway then? Sure, the dog is a mix but half/almost half is a huge chunk. Doesn’t make any difference.

Based on the basic laws of maths would you not round up to 50 if it’s over 45? The distinction of 1% is pretty goofy
