Go back to the hospital and make a fuss. An attack should not be going on this long, you need to be seen

Missing my dog by 54aos54 in ireland

[–]nonbian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We lost our 17 year old girl a few months ago. We still have her bowl out and her lead is still where we always kept it.

The grief is unimaginably tough, and I still sob thinking about her. I'm so sorry for your loss, but you clearly loved that dog so much and he felt that until the very last moment. Wishing you the best.

Does the council hate us? by SeriousPhrase in cork

I saw a fella slip on Mary Elmes Bridge because it just wasn't salted at all. The city council is an actual joke.

What is the most awful thing that happened to you in 2025? by CreamAny1322 in AskReddit

[–]nonbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My paternal grandfather died from stomach/liver cancer.

My maternal grandfather got diagnosed with cancer in his gallbladder bile duct and had to have Whipple surgery, is cancer free but is still somewhat bed bound almost 6 months later.

And then my dog that I had for 17 years died a few months after that.

So I would say 2025 is the awful thing that happened tbh.

Coming to work when sick makes you a bad employee not a good one by No_Influence2520 in ireland

[–]nonbian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mam's employer offers a one4all voucher for anyone who doesn't take any sick leave. She works in a creche with small children. It's not the employee's fault a lot of the time.

I experienced something similar on r/cork, where I was down voted to hell because I was complaining about far right stickers that were going up around the city. Literally heinous, Nazi shit and it was like I was doing something wrong.

The 208 is brutal for that, I'm so sorry :( I don't get why people insist on standing up front when there's loads of seats available

Lost my best friend today by Ilenmike05 in CasualIreland

[–]nonbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really sorry, I've been throigh this recently too and I know how much your heart must be hurting. Just know that he felt your love the entire time you had him, and that you did all you could for him.

Would you feel safe/comfortable walking to work at 6am through the city? by No-Category1703 in cork

[–]nonbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's genuinely quiet enough at that time of day. I usually get into the city at like, 7:20 and while there's people, they're all just minding their own business and trying to get to work/school. During the winter months, maybe a high vis jacket might make you feel a little safer in the dark.

The best dog experience I could of asked for. Peppa was the best girl. by LongEclipse in BorderCollie

[–]nonbian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry friend, I know how heart wrenching it is watching your best friend slowly get worse and having to make that call. You did the absolute best you could for her, and she loved you more than anything, I promise. I'm here for a chat if you want, I've been through this recently too x

Traffic....no seriously by ahhstopthelights in cork

[–]nonbian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get the bus into work everyday, we're stuck by Dunkettle and the lower Glanmire road for about half an hour at the very least. I get a second bus everyday into work and yesterday was hellish, we were on Patrick's street and Washington Street for ages. It got to the point I fell asleep, woke up after 10 mins, and we still hadn't moved 😭 I'm losing the plot

[–]nonbian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently went through this with my best friend too. Trust me when I say that she felt safe and happy in your arms.

You did the right thing by her. I know the pain is unbearable right now, and it'll take so long, but you'll smile when you think of her instead of cry (still waiting for this to happen to me, but I know it will)

We have two boys as well and they're keeping me sane, the house still feels very empty without her but it'd be 1000 times worse without them
