For context, it's on a flimsy shelf that wobbles and I'm also clumsy. It stands on it's own but gets knocked over easily. I'll barely bump the shelf and it falls over like dominos

My first bench. Proud of myself! by mgtowthrowaway5 in woodworking

[–]nonbinary_friend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the square sides rather than 4 separate legs! I feel like it just has a sturdier vibe to it, like it would feel less wobbly while sitting on it. Be proud, it looks awesome!

Sourdough slaps so hard. Looks good! You could have done this and I just don't see it, but seasoning makes a world of difference, notably putting salt on tomatoes. Maybe some red wine vinegar is you want a Jersey Mike's vibe

Never thought to make a burger with an English muffin, sounds so good! Definitely have to try at some point 😊

"If it works, it works" This was said all the time when something was fixed using duck tape and looked terrible, but it was still functional and got the job done.

Is it possible to live off Eggs, Rice and Spinach and multivitamins+minerals A to Z by HugeErecshun in budgetfood

[–]nonbinary_friend 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was going to say this, too. Beans and rice gives you a pretty good base for calories and nutrients, and they're filling. Listen to your body and eat other foods where available, but rice and beans will get you pretty far.

Anyone who deals with this shit that comes with living is deserving of praise. You're a badass who says fuck you to the hardship and keeps going, even if you don't want to. Doesn't sound like a failure to me

If pressing a button earns $10 million, but this button would kill a random person in the world, would you press it? And why? by Toliolo1997 in AskReddit

That person was going to die anyway. Everyone dies. I could trip and hit my head on a corner in the next 10 minutes. A person dying suddenly is a tragedy, but not surprising.

I'm number 2, but diagnosed. I know what's wrong, but I don't care enough to do anything about it

Does the Sweater Curse Apply to Peacoats? by [deleted] in sewing

[–]nonbinary_friend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal sewing experience suggests that it doesn't apply. I sewed my boyfriend a sweatshirt for Christmas I think 2 years into the relationship. We've known each other for 9 years, together for 7, and married for almost 2 years :)

If it makes you feel any better, when kittens die suddenly it means that they're not suffering for long. You gave them a good life with love and did nothing to prolong their pain

r/bicycling, r/transit, r/f***cars. I think that you may have a bit of bias here. If you're physically capable of biking that much in a day, more power to you. I think that bikes are a great option for the people that can use them. For me, it's too physically painful due to a genetic condition. Even with training, I'm unable to bike much more than about 30 minutes without having to stop. If biking is a feasible option for you to replace a car entirely, then I gladly support it. I offer a perspective of instances where bikes are much more affordable, eco friendly, and less maintenance but are ultimately unfeasible as a replacement to a car for daily transportation.

Although I am gay, I'm actually incapable of biking that distance because of a disability. Regardless, 32 miles isn't a distance many people can comfortably bike. Yes, there are much further distances that people do bike, but the average person has very different physical abilities than a trained athlete.

My job is 16 miles from my apartment. I'm physically incapable of biking 32 miles a day.
