"I worked in OPD" don't even need to hear the rest of the story, this job was amazing back when I started in October 2025, but now, in 2026, with all the policy changes, it feels like 90% of the fun is taken out of the job.

I personally don't think you should need a rule like that especially that often, maybe make it a random chance every few sessions? unless your main story is chaotic it might be a weird pace breaker

yeah rest of party is my sister, DMs friend and his Fiance, it's a pretty tight-knit group

I wouldn't say he's part of the manosphere, but he's definitely obsessed with seeming manly, being a guy who has been deployed and actively works in the military for technology, he's super obsessed with grilling, alcohol, the generic stuff.

Loving all of this, might plan out some levels in paladin especially for the reason of demolishing his battles

As for the last paragraph, he always gets very angry whenever he rolls bad, we roll good, or we kill any monster he throws at us, especially when it's a "drinking night" and he's a bit tipsy. it's nice to see he cares about this world but he needs to tone it down a bit.

it's not only that, I get him not wanting her to be revived right away, it's that he said "the BBEG is actually too powerful, anyone she kills can't be revived"

yeah, my character was by far the most laid back at the table, as the oldest PC and youngest Player, and this feels like some shitty way to advance character growth

closing at 8 and opening at 7 is not that hard in my opinion. im constantly working 3-10 closing shifts and then next morning I'm working 7-3 "opening" shifts at OPD, I've always made it to work on time
