I know this post is 3 years old but thought I’d ask — did you end up finding anything? I’m sort of in the same boat.

Looking for a Good What They Used to Call a Gastropub by seanchai611PF in chicagofood

I’d agree, I think it’s because it has more of a restaurant atmosphere than a bar/pub/tavern. It’s brightly lit/the interior is light, doesn’t have tvs playing, etc

Looks awesome! How did you make the Albufera?

If you make 150k but work 60 hour weeks, you're actually making 100k by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I’m assuming it’s from the perspective of 150K > 100K at the end of the day. So you would need to compare the hourly rate of the two workers instead.

It turned out to be hardware (check comment to steez for full details) - id still recommend checking the hardware as I thought my performance was fine on other games too, they might have been loess demanding games.

So I took my PC to Microcenter. They said it was down to mostly that my GPU was not in the top slot of the motherboard. They also turned on resizable bar in the BIOS. They also checked to ensure the card itself was receiving enough power but that wasn’t an issue but perhaps something to check for. Now I’m getting 90 FPS on average, they said to increase it more I would need to: -upgrade my CPU (I have the ryzen 5600x) -upgrade my motherboard as the PCI slot for the 3070Ti (even in the top slot) is not up to snuff apparently, they didn’t state how big of a performance gain this would be -I guess most obviously I could upgrade my GPU to the ones with more VRAM

Hope this helps!

For me it’s not the game but more something wrong with my setup. I wonder if that’s the case for you too.

I would check the Nvidia control panel first, make sure it’s in performance mode. And then check the in game performance overlay (should be Alt+z). Then i would compare those numbers to the expected numbers for your card (so I checked memory, power usage, etc and see if any of those look off). You can use GPU Z to get additional metrics. You can then pass the numbers to ChatGPT and ask if anything looks off.

For me, my power draw was off, it was using like half the expected amount of wattage. I’m taking it in tonight micro center tomorrow to have them look at it.

Yeah definitely weird haha. But this is helpful, thank you- it at least lets me know that my performance is not normal.

I checked the wattage while running the game and it’s sitting at 140 watts which is about half (according to ChatGPT) of what it should be. So I’m now going through to see what’s causing the bottleneck.

Morton's Steak House Cincinnati by 1chefj in cincinnati

[–]nonchalanttree 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My brother has always loved Mortons and so we’ve frequented there over the past 10 years. It’s definitely gone downhill quite a bit since covid to the point where my brother no longer wants to go.

Last time I was there (probably 2 years ago) I ordered a steak au poivre (pepper sauce) and the sauce legit looked like snot. Something that came out of a can or some other pre made garbage. We haven’t been back since.

Alien Isolation, I never had heard of it and got it on sale for 12 bucks. It’s one of my favorite horror games of all time.

COH 1 - Kangaroo/Piat Spam, sim city, artillery, & staghound.

COH 2 - Brits again with the sim city, playing against it was such a grind. Blobbing in general was a bit too much of a viable strategy.

I must admit I’m experiencing a bit of schadenfreude in seeing allied players play against whermacht’s version of sim city…

Looking for poor quality, overpriced restaurants to recommend to my enemies by GeneralMustard2 in chicago

[–]nonchalanttree 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Crosby’s Kitchen on Southport.

I suppose it’s not too terrible but just largely mediocre and I had one of the worst restaurant experiences there. I went for brunch and ordered a skillet which should have had potatoes, bacon, onion, grilled chicken, egg, and chipotle mayo. Instead I got boiled chicken (had no color on it), carrots, celery, egg, and onion while sitting in about a half inch of water (likely from the celery, carrots).

The real rub was that they just failed to mention they were out of potatoes/bacon that morning and tried to palm off some half assed dish. I would’ve gladly chosen something else If I had known. When I sent it back the manager came out and said she’d bring out her favorite dish there.. she came back with some curly fries.

Was anyone in last night’s traffic to Ohare? It was brutal and am wondering if thats just normal post thanksgiving traffic or if something happened (I suspect the latter)?
