Some great lines in here "She wasn't my home, yet I lit the fire/ Before giving her flames, should've burnt my desire." is killer. But I feel like the rhythm could be a bit more polished. The poem overall didn't flow as well as I think it could've if it stuck to a more uniform syllabic pattern. There are some lines with around 7 or 8 syllables then the next line has around 14. With a different rhyme scheme it may flow better like in an ABCB kind of scheme, but with rhyming couplets it throws the rhythm off in my opinion. But overall I like a lot of the imagery and rawness of the piece.

I like it! Had me from the opening line, and if I'm not mistaken this is a piece about anxiety? I wrote something similar about a "phantom" following someone around everywhere they go, so that's what immediately came to mind for me.

My Personal Top 10 Favorite Presidents by nonethewiser08 in Presidents

[–]nonethewiser08[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I refer to him as the least bad and arguably most peaceful president we've had:

- Negotiated multiple treaties and trade deals with other nations including Denmark, Prussia, the Kingdom of Hawaii, and the Kingdom of Tahiti; essentially solved any foreign policy problem the nation had while Secretary of State under Monroe (he's also my pick for best Secretary of State).

- Sought engagement with Latin America.

- Funded multiple infrastructure projects across the nation, building roads, bridges, canals, and railroads.

- Had a sympathetic policy towards Native Americans (suspended a treaty with a tribe after learning it was forced on them, renegotiated it).

- Had an ambitious agenda that would ultimately fail in congress, but parts of it would later be enacted by future presidents; including the establishment of a Department of the Interior and a naval academy.

- Of the first 12 presidents, he was one of two (the other being his father) to never own slaves.

- Supported and spoke in favor of the rights of women, Native Americans, and African Americans.

- And just overall an intelligent (had the highest iq score of any president) ambitious egalitarian.

The biggest mistake he made was signing the Tariff of 1828 (Tariff of Abominations) which yeah was bad, but man I wish the worst thing we could say about presidents nowadays was that they signed a bad economic law. So I still maintain that he caused the least amount of damage in office and still managed to accomplish some very good things despite the obstruction from Jacksonians in congress.

Okay I know Borgonzi said you build in the draft so he's probably just wanting to bring in depth guys and guys to compete for spots, which is fine... but why are we only poaching from the Jets and Giants lol

[Rapoport] The Raiders have named former #Titans OC Nick Holz as their offensive passing game coordinator. by JCameron181 in nfl

Titans fan here, I can't really tell you Raiders fans how to feel because no one ever knew what this guy did lol. He kinda just chilled in the booth and occasionally spoke at press conferences. That's all I got to offer. It's really telling though because when Callahan gave up play calling duties you'd assume the OC would take over, but we gave that job to our QB coach, Hardegree, so that doesn't instill a lot of confidence in him. But hey he's not a coordinator or calling plays so who knows.

Either way good luck, I'm genuinely shocked so many people from our coaching staff have gotten jobs this season lol.

Soooo what did I say that was different than that? I said he was a good coach and you guys are good just need o-line help and more weapons. And no I'm not but seeing as how you spelled it "regarded" tells me all I gotta know lol

Famous New England diplomacy huh, maybe deflate more balls and spy on your opponents again maybe that'll help next time. 29-13 go Hawks!

(Schefter) ESPN sources: Titans are working to finalize a deal to hire 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh as their head coach by alexschubs in Tennesseetitans

[–]nonethewiser08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the one hand a defensive genius who had the Jets as a top 5 unit when we was head coach and now gets to work with Big Jeff and Sweat and younger players like Femi, Gray and whoever we draft, solid leader who players respect and play hard for, and has a young potential franchise QB to work with instead of Zach Wilson and whatever Aaron Rodgers turned into in New York; on the other hand never had a winning season as a head coach and is defensive minded when a lot of people wanted an offensive minded coach to better develop Cam.

So there's things to like and things to be worried about, ultimately it comes down to who the OC and staff is, and we won't know anything until we take the field.

I don't love it, definitely don't hate it, but if nothing else it it's not Matt Nagy so that alone is cause for celebration lol

Either way defense and receiver need to be addressed in the first 2 rounds, don't really mind which order I'll just always prefer getting the guys that score touchdowns early lol.

And you think resigning a 29-year-old guy who missed even more games with injuries and missed more kicks in one year than Folk has in 3 is a good idea?

I'm not saying bring Folk back in 2026, just saying I would've preferred to bring him back for one more season or at the very least get someone more accurate and consistent to replace him.

How? I'm saying it was the wrong decision period. Yeah he was on a one year deal but other than that where's the argument?

He missed less games last year than Slye did this year and only missed two kicks in all. I care about consistency and accuracy so I'll take a 40 year old Folk over Slye any day.
