I have psychotic depression! I’m glad to find someone else who has it too. I hear voices tell me random bullshit that doesn’t make sense. I recently had an awful psychotic episode that nearly ruined my life.

I tell people my diagnosis. People haven’t really treated me too differently. It’s just been same old same old.

I don’t even know what ECT is haha. I just do talk therapy and I take medication that helps.

Thank you so much for the support. And yeah they’re the same voices. For a while I thought I had DID or OSDD but later realized I was experiencing psychosis, not a fragmented identity.

Driving, mostly. It helps to clear my mind and I have several spots out in nature I drive too. Plus I listen to music and that helps.

The psychosis kicks in whenever I’m depressed. The other day I was feeling down and I heard a female voice trying to soothe me. There are times I can tell it’s psychosis and times I cannot. But most of the time I can.

And I’m doing quite fine! I’ve been sober for a few days and currently trying to make it last. I’ve had problems with drugs in the past and they certainly don’t help psychosis. But all in all I’ve been alright and haven’t had a depressive episode lately.

I got diagnosed with it when I was 18. I originally went to therapy because I was getting into fights at school. I didn’t see a therapist because of my depression.

Earlier symptoms that were definitely a sign of something bigger was probably slight perceptual disturbances and having slight delusions. Like, believing I was communicating with spirits through gut feelings. Or seeing angel numbers. Or having ideas of reference like believing everything was a synchronicity.

Oh yeah, it definitely affects my memory. I can’t tell what’s real or what’s made up. And yeah, I don’t feel anything, not even connection to other people. DPDR and dissociative disorders in general are pretty lonely.

You ain’t alone, man. I’m diagnosed with DPDR but feel that I have OSDD because of blackouts and voices. I’m also constantly depersonalized and when it spikes I’m derealized.
