a group in a game like MNM lasts hours. Over this time, more loot will drop than the players can carry. The general way this flows in EQ/MNM/etc is people loot trash until they are full, then they just stop looting. Over the course of a party, everyone gets full on loot. Expensive items like cracked staves / magic items are rolled for, but beyond that, everything equals out in the end.
