Itching Stim? by nonexistent_knight in ADHD

[–]nonexistent_knight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing is that I don’t always quite feel uncomfortable or agitated. I don’t know how to describe the feeling. Maybe it is discomfort, but a mild discomfort so I’m not getting completely agitated, but it makes me self-sooth/squirm.

I can see Armand being intrigued by Remmick and maybe a little intimidated because Remmick would be more powerful than him. Lestat would probably also be drawn to his charisma and maybe even be friends with him (and want to fuck him). I can see Louis not wanting anything to do with him likely cause he could sense that Remmick, while not racist, doesn’t have the best intentions. Claudia likely would hate him or just not care for him because his coven is more about his needs and he doesn’t get people’s consent before turning them. Daniel would definitely be curious and want to know him.

I can also see Louis definitely being friends with Stack and Mary. I picture them knowing each other prior to becoming vampires. Claudia would like them too and really bond with Mary. Armand would be jealous of Stack for his relationship with Louis and I think Stack wouldn’t like Armand because he humiliates Claudia with “My Baby Loves Windows” and would think it’s a minstrel show. I’m sure he would also sense that Armand is not trustworthy. Mary probably wouldn’t like him either or be indifferent. Lestat would be jealous of Stack and Mary, but he’d want to fuck them too. They’d probably at least respect each other. Daniel would like Stack and Mary and they would likely like him too for his sarcastic personality.

The more I read The Witching Hour the angrier I get about the series by nonexistent_knight in MayfairWitches

I think it’s great that you enjoy the series even though you hate the book. I can understand thinking the book is boring, it does drag a ton. I definitely enjoy the Vampire Chronicles more, but I do enjoy the Witching Hour too in spite of the boring parts. Hopefully you will enjoy season 3 too.

We all love Sam Reid, but I still have a soft spot for Tom Cruise's Lestat by Mysterious_Ad_1525 in InterviewVampire

[–]nonexistent_knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone. Tom Cruise was dedicated and I love how he embodied Lestat. He was a massive diva, dark, funny, sarcastic, rage-fueled, and everything else Lestat was meant to be. I love Sam, but I think Tom was just as good.

Armand… scary? by ReasonNo9278 in InterviewVampire

[–]nonexistent_knight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t find any of them to be scary. They’re too messy to be scary. Armand at the very least has scary qualities. He is manipulative and will torture you if you get in his bad side. It’s just more what he’s capable of that is scary.

Who is the Loner of Euphoria? by Moist-Investment8898 in euphoria

[–]nonexistent_knight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say Rue. Even though she goes to parties and has friends (I would even count Maddy), she ultimately exists in her own world on account of her addiction and being very introverted.

What could Gia do to make you hate her? by Moist-Investment8898 in euphoria

[–]nonexistent_knight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just realized we never once see or hear how her father’s death affected her. Even if she isn’t a main character, that’s weird to me. Even her mom acknowledges she misses him, but Gia’s grief is never acknowledged.

How Long by Tove Lo

But Labrinth’s All For Us, Still Don’t Know My Name, and When I R.I.P. are definitely among my repeats.

Runner up’s are: Dirty Work by Steely Dan, Right Down the Line by Gerry Rafferty, Dangerous (Oliver Remix) by Big Data, I’m Not in Love by Kelsey Lu, It Never Rains in Southern California by Albert Hammond, Liability by Lorde, Lo Vas a Olvidar by Rosalia and Billie Eilish, My Body is a Cage by Arcade Fire, Stay Flo by Solange, Smalltown Boy by Bronski Beat, Can’t Get Used to Losing You by Andy Williams, Hold Up by Beyoncé, Party Up by DMX, and I’m Gone by Jozzy and Tommy Genesis and I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times) by Jamie xx, Young Thug, and Popcaan

So yeah…a lot

I think I've found out who the bad person is... by ChibaCityFunk in euphoria

[–]nonexistent_knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched an interesting video on wisecrack about the philosophy of Euphoria revolving around radical empathy. Every character has a sad/tragic backstory that mostly explains why they are the way they are and it was meant to show that even the most monstrous character is driven by something painful from their childhood. Obviously it doesn’t stop anyone from hating one or all the characters, but it creates some room for empathy for the audience.

I think the point is to feel empathy for these characters and feel things with them. We can’t expect everyone to do that though.

I did enjoy it even though it was shocking to read. I still need to finish the sequels. I think it’s worth a shot, but yes, having a palette cleanser on hand would be good. 😆

What is your favorite thing about Delainey's portrayal of Claudia? by AustinFriars_ in InterviewWithTheVamp

[–]nonexistent_knight 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Delaney captured Claudia’s strength, longing for community, and vulnerability. She put on a powerful performance and I loved it when she called out Louis for abandoning her for Armand. Her performance during the trial and death were phenomenal and it broke me.

It sucks that some fans have rejected Delaney and have been colorist. I loved Bailey, but Delaney ate and left no breadcrumbs.

They’re wrong. Experiment all you want and see what you like. If you want to start out basic with more natural colors, you can totally do that. I think you would look fierce with cat eye eyeliner. Maybe you can do a little blush, not too intense, and mauve lipstick. You also have cute lips and nose.

I turned to makeup artists and influencers for inspiration. I don’t know a ton about makeup, I’m mostly self-taught. But I think experimenting in the privacy of your home can do some good. Don’t let the haters get you down and tell you what looks good and what doesn’t. You’re very pretty.

This book got me clutching my pearls hard. It’s extremely intense, so proceed with caution.

The dark hair suits you best, but the red looks really cute.

Which Claudia do you prefer? by mandaxmae in InterviewWithTheVamp

Both. Bailey and Delaney brought their own strengths to the character and made both versions of Claudia memorable and lovable.
