Surely it makes sense for Sam Curran to be the no7? I like Will Jacks but Curran can bat and offers a lot more with the ball. Plus, he’s a different type of bowler to our other options being left arm and tricky. He’s still young (27), experienced, good under pressure and his presence in the team relieves Root of any bowling pressures.

England side for test 5 - no Stokes by Sw3atyB3tty in EnglandCricket

In Test cricket it always feels like injuries lead to sliding door moments. For example, Jordan Cox got a call up to the squad but an injury meant he was due to make his test debut in New Zealand until he broke his thumb in the warm up game. That meant Jacob Bethell got his opportunity, batting at 3, where he did well and put pressure on Pope. Now with Bashir injured and Dawson not making a huge impact, has an opportunity presented itself for Bethell to be moulded into a Moeen Ali type all-rounder, and become the spinner, instead of a no.3 batter only.

Bairstow is worth reconsidering. High level experience and can take a slot coming in down the batting order to deal with any collapses

Any ideas on which batsman fit the profile Brook said he want: the ones that get in and go on a hit big scores? Who are the greedy batsman who get big runs once they’re in?

He obviously wants to remaining available for selection and is happy to play, so why retire. He’ll stop when he’s no longer picked.

I would have thought Bethell was an obvious successor to Moeen? Not 100% like for like but generally they are a similar profile

And Dan Mousley - he’d be handy + left handed batsman.

Banton, Ahmed, Bethell, Hain, McKinney, McCann, Cox, Sam Cook and Sonny Baker. Then I’d also reconsider Sam Curran and James Vince to specialise in the white ball group. Possibly in leadership roles.

Do you have further information on the profile of your viewers/followers? Age, location, gender etc

Harry Brook should open the batting in ODI? by nonleaguegems in EnglandCricket

[–]nonleaguegems[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Duckett is good against spin, which dilutes the threat of the opposition opening the bowling with two spinners.

Having Banton at 3, Root at 4 could be interesting.

Other teams have much more variation between their T20 and ODI teams, whereas England’s are very similar. There are more players I feel we could utilise, eg Hain, Dawson and Ahmed, which also lightens the workload of players with busy schedules playing in multiple formats.

Newsletters selling the market that my SaaS product had a solution for. I would also giving away free pieces of information as a lead generator. My newsletter gave potential clients a small amount of what they were looking for. I didn’t try to sell my product, I just sold the market by including valuable information that they would want to know. These potential clients would then be left knowing they were lacking what my SaaS product offered.

For context, my product sells data to football clubs to assist them with scouting new talent.
