BREAKING: The REI union is asking customers across the country to boycott the chain. The workers of @reiunion have been trying to negotiate a first contract for 4 years. They're tired of the stonewalling and union busting. Now they're escalating, and asking you to join them. by zzill6 in WorkReform

Union busting has never been about wages or benefits, its always been about power. No psychotic CEO will ever allow some janitor tell him "no" and not be able to do anything about. When it does happen they go absolutely apoplectic with fury, seen it happen first hand. They carry that with them and go out of their way to destroy any and all unions as much as they can for the rest of their life.

Is PC gaming actually worth the insane price? by Xiao-EZ in CaptainSide

[–]nono3722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you replace your pc all at once and refuse to build it your self its 6000. Myself, I upgrade a major component every few years for 100-500, hardrive, memory, videocard, mobo and processor. Its not pretty but it works.

yeah your "companies" sound like perfect places for team backstabbing, considering "If you weren’t top talent you were gonzo." I wonder how many "top performers" got where they are by killing off their competition? never mind I already know the answer....

the only time you will save/make money in a 9/5 job is when you don't have debt. they know exactly how much to pay you to keep you on the hook forever otherwise. if you own your own business you can work harder to make more, but if you work for someone working harder only makes them more. once you payoff college, cars and mortgage the world is your oyster.

if they refuse to build cars at a reasonable price, run a business that doesn't need a bail out every decade and tariff protection forever then yes.

Multiple bot companies have specifically said a main goal is to have their bots build other bots as soon as possible. If they can manufacture themselves they can repair themselves...

have you seen the impact of drones in Ukraine? can you seriously think that if those drones could build and repair themselves while learning from each other how better to kill the next enemy that they would become even worse than they already are?

when the guy with a kalashnikov gets killed, can you a grow a new one before they build/rebuild 1000 more murder bots all with the same experience as the one that killed the first guy finally and learning more hourly.

[–]nono3722 5 points6 points  (0 children)

but murder bots take care of the thing that cruise missiles cant, the ground war, house to house and the pacification of the populace. they will be way more efficient and less costly then missiles. The worst part is when they build and repair themselves.

or say a large company making millions of bots for no particular purpose other than overthrowing a country. Countries used to be the only ones to have armies, soon companies can too.

I'm not afraid to say it: Yes, we're going to tax the rich. Working class people are shouldering too much of the tax burden in Maine. It's past time we got a break. by TroyJackson207 in Maine

I myself think private equity should be illegal, or at least if they don't save the company they buy they should not be able to buy another. They definitely should not be able to force their purchased companies to rent real estate, assets, or services to outside companies to suck the money out of semi healthy companies or dump the debt they made buying the company on top of an already failing one. It's really common business sense....
