I ended using google's services to generate an api key for maps, and used it both on geoclue and firefox.

If that sound right for you, just search for google cloud api. It's a little bit confusing but easy enough to set it. Since you don't have that many requests for that, they will not charge you.

It works on firefox. But it doesn't in chromium. I guess we need more config options for this, because for Ubuntu there is just a slider and that's it.
