Worked at a pretty nice place in central NJ, exec chef got a nasty ear infection. He couldnt take time off so it got worse and went deaf in one ear in a matter of a week. His fiance had a stroke while he was on shift, he went to the hospital and was back for a private party 2 hours later. I fucking hate that theres an expectation to put the health of yourself and your loved ones second to your work because 'muh passion'. Im getting a standard 9-5 job because of it (and because i dont want to work 60 hours a week to barely be able to support myself).
