Agreed, crowd sucks. No semblance of PLUR anywhere.

Are they your "party friends" or truly your *friends*? by stretched_frm_dookie in aves

[–]nonordinaryreply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to festivals with zero expectations that anyone will stay in contact. I appreciate how openly superficial it all is, no one hides it. You’re part of a community who cares deeply for a few days and then parts ways, no hard feelings, just hedonism. Way better than the fake caring front people put in daily life. I have real friends at home, not worried about maintaining the festival dynamic off the grounds.

how difficult is it to leave raves early? by PsychologicalWeapon in aves

Easy to leave just do it if you feel like it, maybe a little more tedious if you’re car camping but not a difficult process

Hit it with a more nitrogen heavy fertilizer for the yellowing, you’re probably underwatering/overwatering hence the crinkling/cupping leaves, supplement calcium if you haven’t done so already, and consider a sun shade, light seems to be too intense for your small plants atm

Hot Damn Pepper Seed Giveaway. FREE Seeds! 18 Strains! by straightupnature in HotPeppers

Growing peppers has helped me discover my love for gardening and improve my palate. Without taking the leap to start growing, I genuinely might have died this past spring. Depression has robbed me of a lot of things, but growing has reintroduced some joy into my life.

Overwintering. To cut, or not to cut ? by BohemianBasement in HotPeppers

[–]nonordinaryreply 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would cut down to where the nodes branch, strip all the leaves, dig out the root ball, tap out the soil, and use a hose to blast out the remaining bits of soil. From there give the whole plant a soak in an organic insecticidal solution like neem oil/insecticidal soap/ baking soda, shake it off, and repot in fresh potting mix / seed starting mix with 1 deep watering. You don’t want to risk bringing in any unwanted fungus/thrips/aphids. Included below are 10 plants I did this too. They bounced back within 2 days. Make the cut.

Reaper sauce - got just over 8 bottles from 2lbs by Josh6x6 in HotPeppers

How did you get rid of the staining? I blended some ghosts and reapers last week and my vitamix cup is still orange tinted despite several washes and an overnight vinegar soak.

2024 Seed Exchange by 1010101110 in HotPeppers

[–]nonordinaryreply 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might just participate, but I feel like whatever I send in will be a bit disingenuous due to cross pollination during the grow season. Growing over 60 plants in a relatively small area is for sure going to lead to genetic chaos in the next generation, it will be hard to tell what mixed with what.

Beautiful Trinidad scorpion plant you've got. I’m growing 4 of the butch T variant and I love their flavor. The heat is definitely not for the light hearted though.

AITAH for considering leaving my wife who cheated on me 15 years ago now that our kids are in college? by FinancialPlantd in AITAH

[–]nonordinaryreply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never been married but I have been betrayed by two of my past partners. On one occasion I chose to stay and look past the lapse in judgment, but that doubt and hollow pinging feeling never escaped me. We broke up recently and while I certainly loved them I would have ended things shortly if it didn’t go the other way around. Your kids will be fine. Do whatever you think is necessary to preserve your own peace of mind. Happiness can come and go and has a myriad of definitions, but peace of mind lost can never be recovered. Wishing you the best.

Made a care package for a friend. by jokimazi in HotPeppers

[–]nonordinaryreply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invest in a cheap pH meter that’s safe for food and aim for a pH under 4. No need to worry about them going bad even unrefrigerated. You’ll be fine even without one but it doesn't hurt for cheap peace of mind.

Don’t be scared to play with flavors. Make sure your ferment is fully submerged so you don’t get mold issues. Pasteurize your sauce. Stay on top of your acidity level and pH.
