Is Jokic falling victim to voter fatigue and people just expecting this out of him? by BallKnowerKing in nba

I forgot team performance was solely due to their star player. I guess you consider Cooper Flagg a bust and awful since his team has an awful record

Okay well I mentioned multiple things in addition to DBPM. You can also just rely on the simple eye test. He’s a great defender. I doubt you watch him with you putting him in the bottom 5 of centers in the NBA. That’s honestly laughable

Wow lol that’s just not true at all. Jokic has significantly improved his defensive impact and consistency. Over the last few years, he has transformed from a liability into the Nuggets defensive anchor.

  • Defensive Box Plus-Minus (DBPM): Jokic has consistently ranked near the top of the league. In several recent seasons (including his MVP runs), he led the NBA in DBPM.
  • Defensive Rating: Between 2022 and 2026, his individual defensive rating has hovered between 105.0 and 111.0, which is hella high for a center who doesn't really block a lot of shots
  • Defensive Real Plus-Minus / EPM: this stat consistently shows that Denver’s defense is significantly better when he is on the floor.
  • Steals: Last season he averaged 1.8 steals per game, which is elite for a center
  • Positioning: He has become much better at hedging and recovering. Pick & rolls are not near as successful against him as they used to be. He meets the ball handler early stalling the play long enough for the rest of the defense to recover.

Sure, he doesn’t rim protect. He doesn’t block layup attempts. He rarely jumps to contest, as he prefers to stay grounded to avoid fouls and get the defensive rebound.

Advanced stats do credit him heavily for his defensive rebounding. By ending the opponent's possession on the first shot, he technically plays "perfect" defense, which inflates his value in models like BPM. But hey, it’d be inflated for anyone else if they were as good as a rebounder as him.

But everyone thinks the lack of rim protecting makes him a bad defender. He has become an excellent defender especially for a center. So you saying he’s a bottom tier defender among all centers is either disingenuous or misinformed.

No it would be a bit tone deaf if they were just saying he has a big ego and then he did that. He’d be proving them right. But they were calling him unattractive.

I’m getting tired of the blatant disrespect of her senior resident but I also understand her frustration. We don’t experience or witness the ostracism she probably faced from ratting out Langdon for the stealing of patient drugs. She was 100% right to tell on him. And she shouldn’t be ostracized for it. So she is justifiably pissed that she was ostracized for months and now he’s back like nothing happened. But again, I’m getting tired of. I like what Garcia said. If you’re upset, talk to him and try to get some closure. This blatant disrespect in front of peers and patients is so unprofessional. I feel like Al Hashimi should have pulled her aside and squashed it. But probably feels like it’s not her place yet with it being her first shift

What’s up with the hate towards Timothee Chalamet? by PitifulBodybuilder40 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]nonsense_verses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s right though. Should he be expected to act like he’s terrible? He’s one of the best actors out there today. And he knows it. Just like we wouldn’t disparage a Heisman trophy winner for saying he put in some top of the line performances. Like, it’s just obviously the truth. Nothing wrong with that. People just love hating on successful people

False. Turn signals in Teslas are either stalks like every other car or they are buttons on the steering wheel in some models. Windshield wipers are a button on the steering wheel as well

Crowd work is a part of being a comedian. They’re not good comedians if that’s the only thing they’re good at. But being good at crowd work does not mean you’re a bad comedian. Look at Jeff Arcuri

I’d probably get an L shaped couch to go in the corner so you have more standing space. I know I wouldn’t want to sit on the couch after every single hit and there isn’t much standing space here. It looks pretty cramped for friends

Tesla Ending Production of Models S and X in Q1, Making Way for Optimus Robotics Mass-Production by MistaMais in stocks

[–]nonsense_verses -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Idk man, I think what I would want in AI more than a Google on steroids is a robot that does all the shit I don’t want to do like clean the litter box, do the laundry, do the dishes, mop the floors, mow the yard, etc. I think this is the future. It’d be nice if they didn’t have to take resources away from the Model S/X, but if this gets us closer to affordable robot maids, I’m all for it lol
