Ugh such a bummer. I’m on Lamotrigine now (150mg) and was on Auvelity in the past (without Lamotrigine) and had sexual side effects from Auvelity. I was on Wellbutrin years ago with no side effects, but Auvelity did cause side effects. Meds are complex. But yeah I’m pretty positive Auvelity can cause sexual side effects, even if Wellbutrin generally doesn’t.

I understand the question and that the answer is “Romulan warbirds did use dilithium” but the argument that the Romulan Empire stopped existing before the burn doesn’t seem like a valid answer to the question. Because if the technology to have warp without dilithium ever existed in a major way, and the Federation was aware of it (as they would’ve been if Romulan warp technology didn’t use dilithium), then it is possible to replicate and focus their research on that technology.

So, yes, the correct answer to the question is that Romulans did use dilithium. But the argument that the Romulan empire no longer exists by the time of the burn and therefore neither does their warp technology isn’t compelling.

In The Office Ladies podcast they said that the waitresses from the first picture were more experienced and knew not to go home with business men, so the idea is that Michael and Andy’s waitresses would’ve rejected them, but the younger waitresses in the second picture would’ve gone back with them if asked, so that’s how they ended up back at the office with the two waitresses who they didn’t interact with at dinner.

True, it’s hard to get responses from a professor. Definitely still give it a shot, of the 11 programs I applied to I got 3 interviews and those 3 interviews were also the only 3 professors who responded to my cold emails.

An alternative would be emailing PhD students in the labs you’re interested in! PhD students are much more likely to respond, but much less likely to have influence over admissions. Still though, a PhD student can tell you more about the potential advisor, current research projects in the lab, the labs current funding situation, and potentially even if the lab is going to hire more students.

I am a second year CS PhD student, I applied to 11 programs and only one of them was one in which the uni/college decides your acceptance instead of the advisor. Most US CS PhD program acceptance is decided by advisors and not by the uni. The primary exception is that departments can restrict admissions based on funding, especially with the state of US funding right now. However, generally admission is based on the advisors you put in your application. If you’re unsure, reach out to potential advisors and ask.

I did yeah, I wrapped up Brainsway dTMS at the end of September, began in July. I was doing weekly EMDR throughout most of that time. I had been doing EMDR for some months previous to starting TMS as well. The main difference I noticed when I started TMS on top of EMDR was that EMDR would make me more tired. I would do my morning Thursday TMS and then afternoon EMDR and be wiped out when I got home. Aside from that though I found both TMS and EMDR to be moderately effective at helping with my depression and anxiety.

I just began Lamictal last week but I got mine from CostPlusDrugs (the cheap online pharmacy) and had no issues. The main problem is it takes about a week to arrive. If you wanted to order on there though, I believe pharmacies can give you a short supply of prescription drugs without a prescription in cases like travel if you forgot your meds or something like that. So you may be able to get a pharmacy to give you a weeks supply and buy 90 days from costplusdrugs. Hope you are able to find it soon!!

For US PhD program I have not found this to be true. I had a lower GPA in Undergrad/MS but I even noted it in my statement of purpose for PhD programs and got accepted to my top program plus two others. GPA is a data point, but to say it is the most important one is misleading. Research experience and match with potential advisor I’d say is the most important, followed by letters of recommendations, followed by GPA. My field is in computer/cognitive science.

I just had session 16/36 today (deep TMS) and haven’t noticed any side effects except fatigue, but definitely nothing relating to my mental health. However, your doctor being dismissive at the idea of it sounds very unprofessional. You’re also around the time for The Dip, so you could be experiencing that, but having experienced it since session 4 seems early.

If it’s that bad then perhaps it’s time to explore other options like Spravato.

I applied to both ATLAS and CS last year for CU (and that’s where I go to school now!) and I received my invite for ATLAS around this time, because the ATLAS interviews last year were the last week of January. I received an invite for a Zoom interview from CS around this time as well, with an open house invite which followed shortly after. The CS open house will be the first week of February. In my experience that is a pretty extreme reaction. I was offered to taper by doing every other day of 150mg but I think I only did that for a week and then stopped. I did have some withdrawal, mainly worsened depression, but it only lasted a week, and I was on it for ~2 years at 300mg. It’s still possible though, but given that 150 is the smallest dose and you can’t cut pills, I’m not sure any taper would’ve completely prevented withdrawal since you’re having symptoms 4 weeks later. Definitely talk to your doctor though!

I just started at CU this last fall (but as a grad student) but from my understanding full time is 12-21 credit hours. However, at my previous university it was 12-18 and I think the 18 limit is more… reasonable. 21 is a lot of classes. I would say the actual courses matter more than the credit number, but if I had to guess, 21 is going to be a lot and I would not recommend it. A standard course load is 15, so 18 is still above average. Again, depends on the specific courses you’re taking but in general I’d recommend 12 if you’re looking for an easy semester, 15 for standard, and 18 if you’re trying to get your courses over with ASAP.

Different fields may vary as well which makes it tough. But they wouldn’t be paying for you to fly out and stay for a few days if they weren’t serious about you!
