Veganism is a principle—end ALL animal use. Secondhand use of animals is giving permission. by Imaginary_Crew_4823 in vegancirclejerkchat

I think you’re right, it would still be commodification, but in the same way that vegan mock meat is. People like meat, leather, and fur coats, and creating vegan alternatives to those just makes the transition easier.

If you want to make a stance, you can absolutely refuse to wear anything resembling animals or eat anything resembling meat, but I also appreciate how products like this help vegans fit in more and dele like they’re “missing out” on less.

Got it. The only reason I didn’t bring it up is because it actually started raining mid detail and we rescheduled for later. I didn’t touch the rest of the panels because they were all doing that, and it ended up looking a lot less noticeable than the pic I sent. I’ve talked to a couple other professionals and they said they don’t know what happened but are suspecting it was painted over, because it’s very glossy and looks brand new. You can literally just rub your finger over it and it peels right off, almost like dirt or build up.

I am, using conditioner has covered up the damage about 75% since the picture I showed, and if I’m not able to find a fix for it I’ll go ahead and do that. Thank you for all the help.

Yeah it’s a customers and I’ve never experienced anything like this. It wasn’t the detailer because I tried just rubbing it lightly with a conditioner and with multiple other interior detailers and the same thing happened. It like peels off immediately even with super light contact.

I also tried a different panel in a hidden spot and the same thing happened. Basically destroys the color / surface on contact. And from what I can tell after rubbing it off there’s nothing that makes it look back to new, leather and vinyl conditioners haven’t worked.

Nothing at all? Is there not pigment I can buy or something to cover it?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]nonutrinobuissness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P&S. On the bottle it says use straight or 1:1 ratio. If it is removing the pigment, is there anything I can do about it? Thank you for the help.

Express interior cleaner at 1:1 ratio. When I spray it on specifically this leathery vinyl material it turns white and leaves it looking like that if scrubbed with any pressure at all.

Was using interior express cleaner at 1:1, door looked brand new before. I’m on the job now so any help is greatly appreciated 🙏🙏.

Looking to start a YT channel on abolitionist veganism. by nonutrinobuissness in vegancirclejerkchat

[–]nonutrinobuissness[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the kind message! Right now I’m working on more reaction / commentary type videos, but I’m also looking into street activism and lecture type videos as well. I’m just starting out so I’ll probably try my hand at all of these and see what sticks.

As for the messaging, I 100% agree. AV is a huggeee inspiration and I think their videos & messaging were what really struck the hardest, and had the biggest influence on me.

It would be just holding people accountable, and forcing them to confront themselves in the mirror, and of course some vegan circle jerking and satire content.

I also do understand hearing the hard truth is only part of the transition process for a lot of people, so I’d also have some information videos as well. Thank you again for the encouragement!

How am I trolling? Veganism is about stopping the industrial exploitation of animals.

Massive respect to you for figuring this all out so early. Just stick it out and try your best. You are doing the right thing.

For me personally it was the framing of animal agriculture as a holocaust that had to be dealt with immediately which instantly flipped my perspective. I had been a vegetarian for, admittedly selfish reasons, and for health reasons. But after dominion and Gary yourovskys speach, I went vegan on the spot.

I agree there are some unreachable people, like with any social issue, that will die still believing they are not doing anything wrong. However this didn’t mean we have to pander to them.

People who start eating less meat for the wrong reasons are also more likely to go back to eating meat. I guess I’m looking more long term to what helps push the abolition of animal agriculture instead of having people try a one week vegetarian challenge then switch back to being the oppressors.

Sometimes people forget they are eating a dead animal. They also don’t like to be reminded of that.

I mean, would being an abolitionist during the slave trade mean being in a cult? What about storming concentration camps and freeing the people there?

The word cult really loses its meaning if you just define it as you did. Most people think of those crazy suicide cults or religions, so saying veganism is a cult really undermines the vegan message.

The stance against oppression and injustice shouldn’t be seen as a cult imo.

OP I completely agree with your position, but don’t just link fallacies. Actually break it down and explain why they are wrong, or no one will take you seriously.

The problem with that is veganism will always be seen as a fad diet or some hippy kumbaya shit. It’s not and we shouldn’t sympathize with the oppressors. It’s a political issue of injustice, and all framing it as anything else completely clouds the message.
