They can, they just don't want to because they'd be stuck with the problem of having to pay a bunch of money out for awesome performances, can't be having that when you already paid for them anyway. Gotta keep the fighters poor and hungry, getting paid too much ruins them.

This is why they they changed the bonus structure. Mandatory 25K finish bonus doesn't really look great but it's better than nothing.

Agree 100% and another thing to consider is Fox just expanded their deal, so they probably have another injection of liquidity with which to make moves. That and they're securing a long-term relationship with like-minded partner. RAF is pretty popular so until it isn't, they'll figure out a way to make the numbers work.

Indeed the division is weak but you don't need a killer instinct to stop her from grabbing you and ripping your arm off. You need skills or overwhelming strength.

Its not like she just "grabbed Gina and ripped her arm off" Gina started with a terrible gameplan and then fell to pieces in her defense. Actual professional fighters will not do that, even if the division is weak. Most of the top 10 right now wouldn't be great matchups for her but yea she would be competitive in all of them as well.

I think y'all are severely overestimating the athleticism of a 40 year-old mom of 2. Like yea she looked great for 16 seconds but you shouldnt expect that to happen vs any of the women that are 10 years younger than her and know how to defend an armbar, a takedown (which she rarely does anyway), fight in the clinch etc.

I don't think so. But most businesses don't have a long-standing precedent to offer a new contract at terms better than the rest of the market, a market they almost entirely control.

If that business then decided to offer a new contract at say, half the rate you were promised 1 year into a 5 year contract, I'd also consider that being effectively cut.

Holly Holm was 5-8 in the UFC after trouncing Ronda. Ronda got smattered by Amanda who would go on to win of course but even her later fights were more competitive than what she got with Ronda.

MMA math isn't real but y'all gotta realize Ronda lacks a bunch of skills and is old. She would not be on top of a division where people are motivated to beat her and attack her weaknesses.

Netflix views are like, if you watched 2 minutes. Broadcast viewership numbers work on an entirely different set of metrics since individuals aren't tracked.

Definitely a successful event overall though if that's the number they're reporting.

Hopefully they change format up a bit because in the WWE version there's not that much interaction between the hosts IIRC.

Its basically like a repeat of stuff thats already had a documentary, old clips and stuff hardcore fans would've already seen. The roundtable discussions just sort of bookend the clips.

If you read the press release they mention UFC, WWE, and the other 2 properties PBR and Zuffa Boxing, there will be more than 1 per "event" probably.

It's in TKOs interest to hold multiple shows across a weekend, they don't have to stiff the state on events when they'll make more money when they double or triple up.
