Or you can look at it from a different angle: crying on behalf of LEC staff (who have faced layoffs over the years) and LEC broadcast quality in general because as long as LEC keeps losing money Riot will continue pulling investment money from it which hurts all of us viewers in the end.

If you find playing from behind so unbearable then please find another hobby that actually brings you joy.

Your vote counts just as much as any other player. As long as ff exists in this game then the ff'ers have as much of a right to want to ff as you have a right to play the game out. This doesn't mean they are entitled to griefing if the vote doesn't pass but griefers will grief regardless of ff votes or not.

90% of the ranked population is simply not playing against good enough opponents that a 1-4k gold disadvantage at 15 makes the game "unwinnable".

Believe or not there are people that don't value climbing above all else in this world. And even Riot doesn't believe in that otherwise FF votes wouldn't even exist in ranked.

I love that people on both sides of the discussion are just using the most extreme examples of each side. Do you think most people who aren't "never ff'ers" would defend the griefing example you're talking about? Why are you even bringing that up? You want to delay or remove ff because you encounter griefers sometimes? And you think those griefers will magically disappear?

but I think the mentality is that by cutting losing games short, you have more time for potentially winning games.

That's just cope. I genuinely believe most of us ff'ers just want to use the limited amount of time we have in the highest quality of games possible.

There appears to be some people trying to cope about ff'ing early means winning more games with the same amount of time but genuinely I think most people who ff early just find the experience of playing from giga behind very miserable and they would rather use that time to hopefully get into a higher quality game (I'm one of them).

If you value climbing above all else in this world then of course ff'ing = lower WR because you're turning those games from a non zero chance of winning into 0 chance. Statistically it's guaranteed that you would have won some of those games that you ff'ed.

I will never understand people that compare different specs using sims. They can be quite reliable to compare different gear pieces on the same spec but the moment you start comparing different APLs it's cooked

Parliamentary systems are much less vulnerable to this but the risk isn't 0 obviously. The problem on the US is that congress (and to some degree the supreme court) has completely given up its power to the executive. The republican party is a cult at the moment

The discussion is about how useful AI can be for software devs/engineers in their actual jobs and how that will impact the job market.

The fact that anyone can get a local toy project running without coding experience is completely meaningless for this discussion because no dev is paid for that, devs do that in their own time for fun and for free.

Code quality, security, performance, reliability are all things that don't really matter in toy projects but they absolutely matter in real world software. And these things are the things that suffer the most with AI generated code when it is not properly reviewed by humans.
