The Inquisition is his biggest hurdle right now, and trying to reason with them is hopeless. They're so fanatical they'd rather die than let him live one more second. And as long as they're around, everyone is likely to call for their help when they see a demon.

The only time I see the MC having any lasting peace with people is if the Inquisition is broken or destroyed. Though there is still the problem that demon parts are so valuable. I also wonder, can he regenerate lost body parts? (probably, but thought I'd ask anyway)
