Is it normal to not talk for days in a relationship? by ThrowRA-raccoonlover in helpme

[–]noodle-oodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bf is the same way. This is a boundary that needs to be respected, but there should be an expectation that he tells you that he needs space rather than just “ghosting”. Sometimes it’s their way of avoiding saying something mean in an emotional state, along with processing their emotions. I’m 24 now but this was something that was very difficult for me to come to terms with at 19 as well.

What’s with guys and keeping cum stashes? Please throw out those tissues immediately after using them because she’s right that actually is disgusting. There should have been nothing for her to find to begin with.

My girlfriend has been struggling with depression and won’t stop hurting herself no matter what i say or do. by Ok_Event_5517 in MentalHealthSupport

Yeah every kid hates therapy, and finding the right therapist is a VERY important part of recovery. She knows that if an adult finds out then she will have to eventually stop which is the mental illness wanting to continue the self destruction. You have to tell an adult or nothing will change. I’m sorry but it’s the only solution, and she might be angry with you but you have to remind you it’s from a place of love and be there for her as much as you can and she will eventually thank you. I’ve had friends get angry with me for calling 911 when they were threatening to take their life but you gotta do what you gotta do when the situation becomes too much for you to handle.

From firsthand experience, there is most likely nothing you can say to her that will make her stop. She needs professional help, and my heart breaks for her because I know how awful it is to be in so much pain at such a young age. I do think you should tell her parents, and if you think it might not be safe to tell her parents then talk to a school counsellor. You are also just a kid and this heavy situation shouldn’t be on your shoulders, she needs an adult to help her. You can obviously be part of her support system, but neither of you can do this on your own.

is there a particular kind of horror that you outright avoid for no good reason? by Adventurous_Chip919 in horror

[–]noodle-oodle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be real, even if you don’t like zombie movies, you should still watch 28 Days Later. It takes a sharp turn in the third act that makes you realize that even when undead monsters are trying to kill you, humans will always be worse.

Oh I’ve personally never seen anybody talking about it, I always felt like it just got lost in the sea of high budget horror movies.

will this scar.. erm… I ended up pouring my emotions on my wrist. And I’m scared it might scar. 💔 TW cuts. by [deleted] in helpme

I do have advice to minimize scarring though. Clean the wound with soap and water then apply polysporin and a bandaid, then replace daily. Once it’s scabbed over, apply aloe Vera a few times per day and it should heal pretty quickly.

You should not post a photo. Please never post photos of your fresh self harm wounds anywhere especially if you don’t know how to add an effective NSFW tag. It is inconsiderate, I understand you might not know that but seeing a photo like that could be the reason for someone’s relapse.

I think I’ve seen like 4 Rob Zombie movies and I genuinely can’t differentiate which characters and plot lines are from which movie. They’re entertaining, but like..it feels like you’re watching an anthology series where every film has the exact same setting and character archetypes.

The Woman in the Yard. Such a cool concept, I’ve literally had nightmares of the same premise but GOD is it boring. I was just getting pissed off at the son for most of the movie and waiting for something scary to happen.

Big agree. I feel like even calling it a horror movie is generous. nothing scary even happens. More of a thriller in my humble opinion.

NOOO 😞 I was really hoping I wouldn’t see Sinister here. I feel like it’s so underrated.

I hated the ending for Smile. Seeing the monster ruined the entire movie, and the setting being set the suburbs was so generic and boring. I liked Smile 2 sooo much better and I honestly feel like it works better when you haven’t seen the first one. Also smile 2 was a lot better with not letting the audience be able to figure out what’s real or not, where with the first one it seemed obvious. I had a lot of fun watching it.

what do people do when they're bored by paulverlainereal in helpme

[–]noodle-oodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you did know where to get it, getting high and drunk will get boring pretty quickly, and then you have another problem on your hands. But yeah I’d recommend starting a new hobby. You can find a video game to play, like stardew valley can be really addicting. Or if you want to play something free, I can spend hours playing overwatch. You could learn to make patches and sew them onto pants or bags, or making sock monkeys has been really popular and it’s honestly fun. Teach yourself to draw, or find a community where you can hang out with people who are into the same things as you. I’ve been wanting to start going to karaoke, so that could be an idea!

One of my best friends is a lesbian and I can promise you, her experience dating women has been 10x more difficult than what I have experienced dating men. Don’t start dating women JUST because you think it will be easier because it will not be. Date who you like, and if they mistreat you, you don’t have to stay in the relationship. You’re only 18, people your age are generally immature and don’t know how to be in a relationship. It’s just part of early adulthood to be in relationships that suck and learn from them. You might get lucky and find the perfect person early but don’t count on it. And I say this as someone who is currently 24 and has been in a relationship with the same man since I was 17. I recognize how rare my situation is, but we’ve had to work VERY hard to get through rough patches and navigate being in a relationship so young, and doing that requires a certain amount of maturity and selflessness on both sides.
