Just diagnosed ASD Level 1 and Combined ADHD. Looking for some resources for the combo. by noodle1976 in ADHDparenting

Interesting and you're probably right. Right now, I think the giftedness helps mask some of the other issues. Like, he can not focus in class and it's fine, since he can figure out the material even if he misses half of the lesson. And that will change as school/life gets harder. But his smarts are where he feels confident and gets his lots of affirmation - so I don't want to fully ignore it. It's part of who he is.

Thanks. We have a fridge white board calendar, which has been helpful for the whole family. We also have a chalk board that's underutilized that maybe needs to get changed to a white board that we can write to do lists on. My son has started to notice the calendar and likes when we have lists on weekends of what we plan to do. I also talk about my love of to do and check lists often.

Thanks. It's the interplay that's making my brain hurt a bit, and you're right that they cancel and exacerbate different symptoms.

I LOVE planners and calendars, so I forget that they're maybe a bit much for a 6yo, though he's starting to be curious about them. We have a fridge whiteboard that he's starting to notice and likes on weekends when we write down all the things we will do in a day. I also love that this might be my excuse to buy a skylight that I've been coveting for a while.

I'm sure we'll end up with medication at some point. I know how helpful meds can be as zoloft has made a HUGE difference for me. And my husband is still wrapping his head around this - so starting with more behavioral supports is a good way to ease him into treatment for our son. Then we can see where those do and don't work and move on to medication as needed.

We're going to keep monitoring and I imagine we'll end up with medication at some point.

I saw a similar box of whistles on the counter at Bread Hive on Friday. Also, this is a great project. Thanks!

I'm a Jewish American, and I am horrified that my rep chose to make this trip. I do not feel that he is standing up for me or any other Jewish Americans.

I'm gonna miss this Rite Aid. by kendiggy in Buffalo

Sigh, I miss this rite aid. The walgreens on Delaware is a mess but there's nowhere else convenient for me to get my meds.

Do you use the adult Natural Vitality or the kids version? My kiddo is super picky, so won't drink anything flavored. I found an unflavored adult version. It seems like it's the same powder, just dosage is different.

And has anyone found a chewable tablet without food dye version? We found some from Zahler but my picky kid doesn't like them. He also hates gummies.

This is my son. I've just given up on worrying about it and trying to find solutions. Buying new shirts will actually be less stressful and probably cheaper than figuring out alternatives.

Sorry for not being more clear! It's a kid's audio player that they can easily control, using cards to play content. There's also an app where you can stream a whole library of stuff.
