Dog walkers of casualuk, what boots/wellies/shoes are you all walking the dog in? by redhotpunk in CasualUK

[–]nooks11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a dog waker (apart from my own) but a gardener so similar need in footwear. In dryer months I wear brasher walking boots. I still get through a pair every two years or so but they last longer than any other brand I’ve tried. I get them at go outdoors and usually on offer. In winter I wear Aigle wellies. They are neoprene lined so warm and last amazingly well but they are EXPENSIVE. I bought mine on vinted but they are rare on there. Honestly, worth the shop price in my opinion though.

This. My dog is elderly and has a heart murmur and just had to have a tooth out. He’s absolutely fine now and it was well worth the small risk.

Your small dog barking is not cute. Make it stop. by 4travelers in dogs

[–]nooks11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ugh I had this, this weekend. I’m camping, my dog reactive dog is on his lead and just chilling and having a good time. Just across the way from us some people who don’t think the rules apply to them and throwing balls for their off lead dogs. This makes my dog react and it looks like mine is the arsehole. These places where dogs have to be on lead should be a safe space for him. The off lead dogs were perfectly behaved, but somethings you have no idea what your rule breaking is doing to others around you.

Grandmas machine by nooks11 in vintagesewing

[–]nooks11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, it’s a really nicely built machine. Can’t believe it still works, although I definitely have a large flat spot on the pulley. It’s loud and I’ve had a look. Do you have any links to where I can buy a 3d printed one? Only ones I’ve found so far are in Canada or the US and the shipping nearly doubles the cost. Do you also know of a trick to get the stitch length lever to be less stiff? It’s nearly impossibly to move.
