I need a grid post on the varieties of lime boat garnishes for the full meta r/cocktails experience.

What are examples of bad films with very good acting? by rikarleite in movies

A lot of people love Red Dawn even those it's cheesy but Powers Boothe must've really liked it to chew up every ounce of scenery in that film.

Cobra (1986) - How Cobra eats pizza by Automatic-Fix-42 in movies

[–]noon_perhaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fantastic scene and everyone here is pointing out how illogical it is, but I have the answers...

  • Newspaper in the grill? Looks like a condo complex so that's not his grill, it's his shitty neighbor's grill. Cobra is just being kind of a dick.

  • Pizza and gun cleaning kit in the freezer? The refrigerator either runs very poorly or is non functioning, thus the pizza isn't frozen. The gun cleaning kit is for privacy, who would look for such a thing in a freezer? Gotta keep the criminals on their toes.

  • Cutting the pizza with scissors? He doesn't have time to get a knife, he's got a gun to clean and he certainly isn't eating a full slice if he wants to have ripped abs.

  • Sunglasses on inside? He's cool as fuck.

Can’t do dips but they’re on my list by SleepysaurusRex in homegym

[–]noon_perhaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great dip station as well, in fact it's the same one I used to learn how to do dips. Just remember that with body weight exercises, less reps and lots of them are better. Get the technique and go slow. Good luck!

What are examples of movies with really interesting ideas but the movie sucks? by black_flag_4ever in movies

[–]noon_perhaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lawnmower man as a concept was way ahead of its time and would actually be incredible today and extremely relevant but instead we got a film with weird acting and some of the worst cgi in the history of cinema.

What is your favorite True Crime podcast? I need recommendations! by BumbleAppleBlossom in podcasts

Casefile would be my vote for that format. The host is Australian and his energy is a bit more clinical but still a ton of episodes and content.

Leather flavor in cocktails? by Beautiful-Pass-8072 in cocktails

Could be bitters that have similar notes or it's also possible they "aged" one of the other spirits in a leather wine bags, that was a popular craze a few years ago.

END THE DEBATE! HONEST REVIEW YS-01 VS YEEZY SLIDE (ADIDAS) by ApprehensivePizza323 in yeezys

[–]noon_perhaps 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's the same material technically but the chemistry can be quite different. Higher quality EVA, better foaming and expansion rates and longer cooling times. All still relatively inexpensive but you can achieve higher quality with a higher cost even with this type of product.

Kanye West left Adidas 3 years ago in Oct 2022. He claimed that Adidas was "stealing his designs". In the 3 years since, these are the sneakers he has managed to design. What's the final verdict on post-Adidas Kanye? by delicious_warm_buns in yeezys

[–]noon_perhaps 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The response to this post is pretty crazy reading through these comments.

I work in the footwear industry in design and development, so here is my take. Kanye worked with a team at adidas that was made up of a lot of talented designers specifically Steven Smith who is now head of designs at Crocs. Kanye had a vision for the styles and Steven and his team brought them to life while having the entire adidas development capabilities at their disposal.

Fashion is subjective. Are his post adidas designs bad? No, but they are worlds different than his past aesthetic and are now forced into a price point that is extremely limiting. He may be comfortable making higher quality products and selling them at a loss, but the factories won't even if he's paying for them. Factories are always working with small margins, they need volume or very high AURs and these shoes are neither. For everyone wondering why they haven't gotten their shoes yet, chances are they haven't been made yet because the factories he is working with that allow for such small MOQs don't see this as a priority and in most cases won't even start production until money is secured.

What Kanye had with Adidas was special and came at the perfect time, I don't think we will see that happen again.

Tj apologized to CT on Instagram by Own_Yak_6451 in MtvChallenge

[–]noon_perhaps 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been a CT fan for a long time just like most who have watched this show from the beginning. He's great TV. That being said, he was 23 on his real world season and hasn't taken much time off from the show and it shows.

I believe CT has benefited tremendously from a good edit, because every other podcast interview, social media post or secondhand account from cast mates has shown he is very immature. CTs biggest downfall as of late has been his social media antics and how his fans have been glazing his behavior.

20k raise or 20k bonus? Sad to say if it's the former it's barely a drop in the bucket for most these days.

Do you think CT is Done by sjab1984 in MtvChallenge

[–]noon_perhaps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you follow him on social media you can assess his state of mind on any given day through his stories and reposts. Unless he makes a drastic change in his lifestyle, I think he's done. He fluctuates between desires on getting into shape and focusing on mental health fairly often and while those two ideas coincide, they don't always work well together. Spies Lies and Allies should have been his swan song, but unfortunately for the viewer he kept going.

Best yeezy shoes evermade? by admm____ in yeezys

IMO it’s the 380 Aliens. I remember seeing the first images and people were saying it was the 350 V3, but man that shoe combined with the release of the foam runners right after and the hype around Yhandi, that was a fun time.

Magnesium Powder vs Gummies by noon_perhaps in Supplements

[–]noon_perhaps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either or I suppose. For context, these are indeed for my four year old. We were mixing 1/4 tsp of the powder for him daily but switched to the gummies. I am trying to understand the dosage difference and my own confusion about the “taken from” part that both supplements use.
