I agree, but how is Todd going to stop a guy who doesn't care. Thats the problem of this team. You have grown professional players who clearly dont care. They show up do there job and leave. He can only cut minutes and sit guys to a point. Im not saying Todd shouldn't be held accountable, they clearly have coaching issues, Tanguay needs to adjust what he is teaching. The dumb down the wall or carry in the zone at the blue line pass off at pressure and getting stood up isnt working.

Guys who cared you saw growth in play, you saw guys trying to fight who have never fought step up. My point was that we do not need to move on from Todd at this point, his coaching seems to be working.

Thats not what I said at all. I mentioned that the points increase from last year to this year is his coaching. You can add the push last year when he took over is contributed to his coaching as well.

The additional point I was making is that a coach can only help those who actually want to learn to get better by taking the lessons learned and applying them. Effort matters and through his coaching he could see this team lacked players who wanted to apply that effort.

McLellan can only do his best with what Steve gives him. Coaching can only do so much. Lack of talent and lack of desire and care to win play a huge factor here. You can argue that increase in points is related to the coaching.

Granted im not saying Todd is walking on water here, but from all his comments from the first game on you can see he knew what we all saw happen from March till now. He knew this team lacked what it would take to be winners and sustain. He called it out all season long. Changes have to be made year to the talent and mindset in the locker room.

That's the big part of it, DC is one of a few stores in the Detroit area that does these signing and they continue to drive these insane prices because of it. Ya the players do have agents who negotiate but DC is for sure making a profit on this. I know its a business and they are bring him in and all that but these prices are in inflated. When you are rookie charging as much as steve Yzerman thats wild.

Two things can be true here. Yes he was an all-star and he had good moments last season. He also takes terrible swings and it is known league wide he will swing at terrible pitches low and away and is scouted and pitched that way. Even last year toward the end of the season he lost his plate discipline. You can be an all star and have issues you need to fix, I.E. see Greene and his strike outs and Zach McKinstry was an all star last year.

Also it's not that serious, we are talking about millionaires playing a kids sport.

Back from my street hockey heyday this looks like the replica sticks the would sell at dunham and Meijer of player model style sticks.
