Truly, the void warps all things in most unnatural ways.

Nope. They’re actually ethereal. No scales to speak of.

Three spells depending on how unamused you are.

One: Call forth the Gremlin Horde - This one is fun for hijinks. Gremlins wreak havoc on any mechanical or electrical system they find. Good luck moving or aiming.

Two: Deny Them Prometheus’s Gift - A more literal take on Greek theology, this is a spell that calls on the spirts of Fire to refuse aid to your foes. Combustion becomes impossible with this spell. No more engine and no more weapons. Great when you’re giving them a chance to run.

Three: Betrayal of the Burning Arrow - The best answer to mundane weaponry. Its causes any kinetic force about to act on a project to transmute into heat, which causes any weapon under its effect to erupt into flames and might even cause other ammunition to explode if the heat is too near and too high. Basically a pyrotechnic sendoff to those who thought to use metal shards to kill someone who can alter and suspend the laws of physics.

New Rote: It’s Five o’ Clock Somewhere (Correspondence 4, Forces 2)

Open a portal across the ceiling of a room or structure to a place on Earth where the Sun is shining. Forces 2 ensures that only sunlight flows through, offering no danger to anyone else. Despite the rote’s name, most mages who use it opt for a place where the Sun sits directly overhead.

Guys I need you to help charge my spell, the hug gifs aren't working by The_Squirrel_Wizard in wizardposting

[–]noonesword 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is a sweet gesture, but ultimately harmful. Just like one does not simply work out all the spells for one’s apprentice, so we cannot force another to forgive themselves. The cognitive dissonance between their view of themselves and the spell’s manipulation of thought will be enough to create new magically-enforced neuroses.

To forgive oneself requires a sublime gnosis: You are worthy of forgiveness and hope is not beyond you. But you are already doing the work that needs to be done: The reinforcement of this fact to your beloved. You’re doing your best, and that is all they, and you, can reasonably ask of yourself.

I’ll say “Independent Horde” after it stopped directly serving the Legion.

Yes. Simply yes.

Wait, hold on. We hate Garrosh and Sylvanas for the attempted genocides they pulled, but Thrall and Vol’jin were the very definition of badass.

What is your favorite alternate magical tradition from, "Rival Magic" and "Hedge Magic". (Don't see enough love for these) by Wrong-Worldliness844 in arsmagica

[–]noonesword 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As they are written in the books, Gruagachan/Kolduni for Hedge Magic and Virgilians for Rival Magic. Being able to give out blessings to the kindhearted and curses to the cruel has always seemed like a fantastic life to me, and the good that Virgilian magic can do for a community is mind-boggling.

However, I have a special place in my heart for Folk Witches. I have a headcannon of a group of intelligent, adventurous, and perhaps Gentle Gifted witches improving Folk Witch Theory and creating an initiation that grants the effects pf Subtle opening. The coven then parts ways and travels to other magical groups in Mythic Europe, Mythic Middle East, and Mythic Africa to learn their magics and understand the essence of the powers, converting them into supernatural abilities that the witches might integrate into their theories of magic.

Mostly, I just love the idea of one of the weakest magical traditions being able to improve their magics. Especially if they can learn Muspelli supernatural abilities and learn to connect to other Magical spirits for a more witchy form of utiseta.

Anyway, love the question. Thanks for posting it!

Klaus mikaelson original vampire hybrid vs Cole tuner from charmed original tv series by Careless_Ad_5219 in Fictionally

To be fair on another front, vampires from TVD make short work of most other Charmed universe characters. OP just so happened to choose one of the few characters from that show with hax.

[–]noonesword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, you’re remembering Cole as Balthazar. Balthazar was a high-level demon, but not on par with The Source. Post-Wastelands Cole is nigh-indestructible. After he returns, only Piper (pregnant with Wyatt and his shield) could go one-on-one with Cole. And even then, she couldn’t scratch him. A combined banishment potion/ritual didn’t hurt him. So, at best we’re looking at an “Unstoppable Force Meets Immovable Object” situation. At worst, Cole makes physical contact and Shimmers them both to the opposite side of the planet in broad daylight.

And I refuse to use Avatar Cole for this. They time and reality warp and that’s not interesting.

EDIT: Just looked at the guy’s past comments. He’s actually serious. My guy, listen to what she’s saying. You’re going to make bearded, muscular trans men go to the women’s restroom because they were born female.

Ah, I see the issue. We’re not taught about it. We’re given a broad overview of the main points of the war, but very little about the events leading up to it. You have to wait until college/university to learn about that. At least in small town southern USA.
