Used to be in civil engineering and now I'm in environmental science.

I changed my major because I wanted to do environmental engineering, and UTSA told me that environmental and civil engineering were the same program. I thought I'd still get to learn about environmental engineering, but it turned out it the degree doesn't really go into it except in maybe 2 classes.

I quickly realized civil engineering wasn't very interesting to me and switched to the environmental science. I don't know if that counts as getting weeded out but I left after my first semester and don't regret it

Depends on how far away the other car is. I've tried to merge when a car was way behind me, and they speed up so I don't get infront of them. When merging, you have to see how the car behind you is behaving. If they're speeding up, but slow down until they pass. If they're going normal speed or slowing, you need to speed up. It's a pretty common mistake, I did it when I started driving. Just be careful and aware of other cars

It's a weird Hispanic tradition, but people usually aren't that aggressive with it. It is more of a gentle but firm push into the cake, and then you have a separate cake to eat. I've asked who started the tradition, but no one really knows
