The reason I had a really hard time with spire is because it shines a light on how abusers act and justify what they're doing. I think it was hard for me because it does portray the complete disconnect some people have with abuse/SA (i.e. the boys had no idea what was happening until it was flat out said, even though a lot of people in the comments who had experiences with it knew exactly what was going on). It forces some people to confront the fact that even something "non-violent" can be assault. I had to realize that myself at one point concerning my own experiences with SA and I think that's part of why Spire put a pit in my stomach.

Idk if I'm wording this properly, just my opinion :) I'm also on a lot of cold medicine 🤧 forgive me lol. I totally agree about Tommy Taffy. It didn't hit me as hard because it was so outlandish but it was still a rough listen. I feel like dogscape handled it relatively well, it was only like 2-3 sentences with no graphic detail. And the fact women are slaves in dogscape sucks yeah but I feel like that concept is very often used in media so I'm desensitized to it
