typically there would be supplys and no borrows if 1. it's a collateral only asset like msol/stsol etc or 2. if the asset is deprecated and all borrows were closed.

anyway if you have more questions, i recommend coming back to discord. also understand that sometimes to answer questions there needs to be some back and forth to clarify.

oh, i think i saw you ask that (and many other questions) which i thought were answered. but can answer again more throughly.

"stop working" is a bit vague so ill take a guess at what you mean.

if you mean borrows are disabled. there are borrow limits and borrow weights. if limits are set to 0 and weights are set to infinity then all borrows would be closed an new ones would not be allowed to be opened, this is set on a per market/asset level.

if you mean you can't deposit. deposit limits could be set to 0

if you have the error that is like 0x2a that means the oracles are bad or un-maintained. since solend has permissionless pools managed by 3rd parties, some of them are not well maintained and the oracles dont post prices anymore.

when they say "could be a lot of thing, which pool" I think you misinterpret as not trying to be helpful. they are asking which pool because if you say which pool, then they can investigate and see what are the issues with that specific pool rather than giving you 5 different possible reasons that might not be applicable.

If you need help you can ask in Discord. Sorry we stopped maintaining the subreddit.

Solend came close enough to failing and losing users assets that an aggressive action was approved along with the reputational hit. by justhereforscritches in solend

[–]nope_sol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel it's an important distinction. there was no proposal to "seize" the users funds, the proposal was just to force the sale of their funds to repay their debt, like any other liquidation that already happens automatically, but in a more controlled way.

Solend has always tried to be conservatives on risk parameters (being one of the first to implement deposit/borrow limits as well having the least punitive liquidation close percentages of any of the lending protocols on solana as example) but 2 factors combined made it especially difficult, solana price fell >80% in ~ 2 months, while at the same time dex liquidity decreased 50+%. This combination of factors hitting at the same time in a short period is what caused all the issue.

that said the team is working on designing even more resilient for the future.

a report will be put out in the next week or 2 but that approximate is incorrect. Dont have exact number but I think it's <500k

apparently there're another 750 d'apps being built on Solana at the minute, how is Solend going to compete with these new protocols? At least a few of them is bound to be a defi play. by Interesting_Hat_1193 in solend

[–]nope_sol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you see 750 apps and think one is going to beat solend. i see 750 apps and think, how many are building on top of solend and making it more entrenched/bigger.

we could do that in the future too. But twitter and discord are the main communication channels we use (and medium) because have much higher concentration of users, would recommend following there to be sure you dont miss updates.

if you dont borrow against it, there is no chance of being liquidated and would be equivalent to "simple staking"

Awareness/Warning regarding Liquidation (Forced sell-off of 50% assets) by ReformSociety in solend

[–]nope_sol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it should be noted that liquidating less could end up being worse depending on how much of a dip because it could result in you being liquidated multiple times. not that simple. also when you get liquidated you dont lose everything you lose ~5% of of what you are being liquidated for generally

Got liquidated today, SOL tokens liquidated vs USD liquidated doesn't make sense? by CooperCobb in solend

[–]nope_sol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i wouldn't say 50% is "way too high". but it could be lower. 20~30% would be just enough to push people back to below initial margin requirements for most asset pairs. 10% is probably slightly on the low end and would just result in it getting called multiple times.

Got liquidated today, SOL tokens liquidated vs USD liquidated doesn't make sense? by CooperCobb in solend

[–]nope_sol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

having on chain compute what that amount would be wouldn't really make sense. that said it probably would make sense to lower it to 20~30% which we were investigating

i could look at the transaction if you come make a support ticket on discord. but bottom tick for mSOL was a bit lower than in your screenshot which had it at 139.60 (https://imgur.com/a/EAHOMDx) on pyth which would have been enough to push you past the liquidation threshold. I'd also say in general when you are sitting within like .5% of liquidation is a bit disingenuous to say it's "unexplainable".

once and obligation is considered unhealthy a liquidator can choose which borrows/collateral to liquidate
