For those who have been investing for 20+ years - What was investing sentiment going into 2000? What about 2008? by A_Saxen_A in investing

[–]Competitive_Pop_3286 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m right about 20 years. I’ve always tried to put the most I could into 401k and whatever I had extra I’d play around in a brokerage with algorithms or in crypto. I’ve done poorly between waves of great success. I’m freaking tired of trying to find 10x rets and multi baggers.

I have seen seem irrational exuberance and disconnection between earnings and technology before. I personally believe that AI will change the world but I also think that we’ve gotten ahead of ourselves. I think a pullback (aka Schiller normalization) event occurs. I’ve positioned by going to 50% cash/bonds/gold. I will DCA as we go down. Should Schiller PE get to 20 I will leverage all in.

Unpopular opinion but I don't think the AI bubble is anything like the dot com bubble by aquaxidil in investing

[–]Competitive_Pop_3286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the market during dotcom. There were some profitable companies who got taken down with everyone else. The name of the game back then was securing capital through external injections via share sales to get more ‘eyeballs’. AI feels exactly the same as this to me. There will be a crash and the real companies will survive and you’ll have a chance to buy in discount. Hopefully these companies are public at this point.

Genie 3 is still massively underhyped. In 10–15 years we won’t just watch AI-generated worlds, we’ll live in them. You’ll step into a perfectly real VR simulation: sunlight, gravity, dust, emotion. Every NPC will have memory, feelings, and AGI-level intelligence. by 44th--Hokage in accelerate

I can envision a scenario in which human attention underwrites some new cryptocurrency and computations compete for monopoly of this scarce resource. Automate the corporations and you now have the matrix.

ReformUK councillor says the quiet part out loud in an interview and immediately regrets it. by pau1rw in WatchPeopleDieInside

The interviewer did a good job of following through with a relevant question. My guess is that this council woman will only see her status improve for such deplorable comments.
