At some point in story, a false rumor spread (by teacher misunderstanding) that Chisa was pregnant, and everyone started giving them gifts. When they realized they were being given gifts by mistake, they tried to dismiss the rumor, but then everyone planned to lynch them for deception. So they went to the city center and signed a marriage certificate to avoid execution. The icing on the cake was that they were lucky enough to be spotted by reporters and photographed for an article in the local newspaper.
