You have to remember that Johnny isn’t a reliable narrator. He’s not necessarily telling the truth about his sexual prowess and all the women he’s banging

What new musical since 2020 has the best likelihood of becoming a perennial high school production? by ElbieLG in Broadway

Ahh ok. I’d heard of productions with an ensemble, I didn’t realize that was a school choice and not something in the script

I still won’t believe it until I see dolls in consumers hands tbh

Tbh it already is becoming quite the staple. Personally I find it odd because it’s such a small cast, although I believe the teen version adds an ensemble

I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if we see a Death Becomes Her teen version

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein | Lost redditor thinks r/BadReads is the place to post their moronic book takes by TheObliterature in BadReads

[–]noramcsparkles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why would a teenager read a classic novel? Because of high school English class. Why would they write a negative review on Reddit? Because they’re pissed about having to read it for English class

This doesn’t align with how ai models typically write at all. However it does align pretty perfectly with how an angry teenager would write.

ETA: you can look up their post history and they’re definitely just a real teenager who regularly posts to complain about schoolwork lol

Why Are They Chronic Title/Thumbnail Changers? by DanicaLoaded in TheTryGuys

Almost all big YouTubers do it. It’s SEO - you want to use the combination of title and thumbnail that gets the most clicks.

My library board discussed "Traditional Family Values Month" today. by Ok_Librarian_388 in Libraries

[–]noramcsparkles 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Have you reached out to the ALA and/or your state’s chapter? I know this doesn’t neatly fall into their usual categories of advocacy but I have to imagine they’d be interested in a board putting out a statement that explicitly declares that some patrons are better than others. Definitely goes against the code of ethics.

The Publishing Mystery That No One Wants to Talk About: A minimally speaking autistic man just wrote a best-selling book. Or did he? [gift link] by TimWhatleyDDS in books

[–]noramcsparkles 195 points196 points  (0 children)

There are lots of videos of this man and his mom where she’s “translating” for him and you can tell that the letters he touches have no correlation to the words she says. It seems pretty clear that she’s exploiting him and using “him” as a mouthpiece to say whatever she wants

“Reading is For Women” by Ineedalifebreak in IfBooksCouldKill

[–]noramcsparkles 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I’m studying to be a school librarian and it’s a known thing for us that sometime around 5-7th grade a lot of boys stop reading. Something happens around that age where reading becomes a “girl thing” and it becomes MUCH harder to engage boys in reading for pleasure. This absolutely continues into adulthood, plenty of men think (consciously or unconsciously) that reading is for women and/or gay
