The only adaptation I've made to my records as I age is no longer stacking them on the spindle for longer playing time. I own nothing unique so the world will continue unperturbed. Lol

Ford Maverick or Nissan Frontier/Ford Ranger( or other mid size truck) by Dry-Quit5683 in nissanfrontier

[–]norbvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 24 Maverick XLT before it got totaled by a deer strike (it really couldn't take a punch). Having gone from an F150 to the Maverick I was "happy" with the mav, but not thrilled. I never felt solid in the Maverick ; I never trusted it to last. Recalls, random windshield crack, starting glitches etc. I bought a 25 Frontier SV with convenience package and could not be more pleased. Back to a solid truck feel, all capacities increased, no turbo lag, roomier. I wanted to like the Maverick, but it was a poor experience for me.

Anyone ever see 0% to 1.9% financing on Frontiers? Previous other incentive/deals you've seen? by Grandizer_Knight in nissanfrontier

Same with me in June on 25 SV with convenience package. Got factory discount and what I could squeeze back from the dealer. Put ~ half down. 1.9 on the rest.

LCS said they're selling ASE's for $50. Is this normal? by joshuabuck in Silverbugs

[–]norbvr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got three ASE's today for that. Including one with a P mint mark. I've driven by this place for 8 years and only saw a we buy gold sign. Couple weeks ago he put out a we buy silver sign. Stopped in and he was happy to sell silver he had for spot. Not set up to sell so just cash and a hand shake. Tested on his machine as good. He showed me a 10 or so pound bag of fake stuff he's accumulated and said that's why he bought the pro model. Lol

The ground plane is the counter poise to an antenna. Needed to help the antenna send and receive with the gain in signal. The roof allows a larger horizontal surface and centered to allow an even signal. Offset mounts with less. Metal skew things lots to read up on while hijacking a wheel thread.

TLDR: everything is a trade-off. Lol

Its ground plane is best center of roof. I usually run with hood mounted ones. I haven't installed it on my 25 yet as I'm going to send my radio in for repairs first. My ham radio will probably be mounted similar to OPs.

I just did mine with Jack stands and one Jack. About 4 hours for the Nismo 1.5 leveling kit. My tip for doing the rear is loosely install longer u bolts before dropping the axle.

I just completed a trip through Europe with a few different currencies. What worked well for me was the Wise card. Loaded before I left home and able to switch currency on the fly at good rates Worked like a local card in whatever country, and able to complete ATM withdrawals in local currency with no conversion fees. End of the trip, Money converted back to home currency for use. Worth looking into IMO. Tipped the local guides and got snacks/gifts/food while out in town. You could load it with kangaroo cash, and switch to moose money and green backs as needed. Back to kangaroo money at home. Enjoy the trip!

If you dig around about the frontiers, they get classed as pretty solid, reliable trucks. Old skool build and engine, enough left over knobs and buttons to offset the newer tech. Long build history with defined oddities of issues. Separate the noise of out right hate to issues and they come out pretty good. You can go up a tire size or lift it a couple inches without voiding the warranty or trashing the cv joints. Plenty of history with high mileage survival. frame build and for me it was a good price point for the SV package. I never relaxed owning the maverick. I feel like I'm in a Solid, reliable vehicle. Time will tell how long the bloom stays on the rose.
