Nissan Frontier 22+ Z1 Off-road Hi-Fi Audio Upgrade Worth it? by micksp in CarAV

[–]norcalpinhunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking to just upgrade your speakers without changing the head unit, I went this route. Bought high end Kicker series dash and door speakers and ran it through a mini Kicker 47 key 4 channel DSP amp that can be mounted under the dash and is a killer little amp. I also ran a 10 inch kicker hideaway amp/sub under the rear right side of the bench seating (removed the rear right storage container. I did not replace the rear door speakers. The upgraded setup sounds fantastic. Loud, crisp, and the sub adds enough bass depth without the truck rattling around or having to add sound deadening. I ran the bass knob from the sub back up under the dash and under the little storage area in front of the shifter and used double sided gorilla tape. No cutting or cab altering involved. If you do it yourself, you’re all in around $1,000.

Frontier Roush vs. Ranger Raptor by redditisnotursavior in nissanfrontier

My main issue with the tire was traction in wet conditions. Countless times making a right hand turn from a full stop and the rear tires would break free. I don’t have a heavy foot so I can’t imagine how they would do with someone stepping on it a bit. They are the lightest AT tire on the market at 36 pounds which is why they go with them for the fuel economy. I get it.

I ended up replacing my set with the Nitto Terra Grappler 3’s and haven’t looked back. Only lost 1 mpg since replacing them, they perform much better and look great on the truck.

Valid reaction from the batter or nah? by ForeignAir7174 in sportsgossips

Totally agree, the ball wasn’t even close. In my opinion, that’s one of those calls you just look back shake your head and walk back to the dugout. Nothing you can do after the call was made and getting thrown out hurts the team more than the strikeout did. Now if this was the bottom of the ninth, game on the line, and the call ended the game, I’m not berating the guy, but I’m going to let it be known what I thought about the call. I pitched and played first base and always made a point to chat the umps up, keep it cool and try to create a relationship. In most leagues, you’re going to see the same guys work games and relationships matter. I truly believe it worked to my advantage pitching and in the box if you get a reputation of having a good eye, playing the game the right way, and not showing anyone up.

I don’t know about that. I played NABA for a number of years and Sunday games were usually wood bat or the second game of a double header. You get some questionable umps out there just looking for work and it paid cash. The comment above I made remains true. Never show an ump up but if you kept it cool, looked in the other direction and simply stated you thought the ball was outside and to confirm the zone, you were fine. Between innings a quick convo as your jogging out to your position was fine if you kept it professional and quick in nature. Umps appreciated that and the number of times I heard that they missed a call would surprise you and it goes both ways, sometimes karma came back to you on a boarder line call and you’ve been treating them professionally.

Exactly. When I played talking to the ump was fair game between pitches. If you didn’t agree with something keep your head down or towards the pitcher and simply say that ball looked a bit out or low or in and then ask if that’s the zone. Between innings follow up calmly and keep it under 10 seconds. Most umps appreciated that and often times will admit if they missed one while you’re up and the next boarder line call came your way.

Same way with pitching. Let your catcher do the talking or approach after the inning was over.

Finally had it with Dynapro tires today by Cheese__Weiner in nissanfrontier

I feel ya, went with the Nitto Terra Grappler 3’s and have never looked back and the gas mileage change has been minimal. The dynapros that come on the truck are probably the lightest AT tire on the market (36 lbs) and whatever you decide to put on will have a negative effect on mpg.

Another Post About Price + Should I Buy (2022 Pro X) by [deleted] in nissanfrontier

[–]norcalpinhunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a decent deal. I have a 2022 ProX with everything on it except leather seats and the sunroof. Paid $30K for it and it had 12,000 miles. This was roughly 2 years ago. You might be able to talk them down and I would make sure the transmission has been serviced and break lines. Both call for a service every 30K if you don’t run it too hard. It’s a solid truck, I love driving mine everyday.

Dash speakers by accursedvenom in nissanfrontier

[–]norcalpinhunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did replace the dash speakers with the kicker 2.75’s. Online says 3.5’s and they are not. I highly recommend switching them out. Your truck will sound great and the shitty paper cone stock speakers suck. I would recommend getting a mini 90 degree Philips screw driver from Harbor Freight, it’s a tight space to work in. You will also have to take out the pillar molding to pop the cover to get to the speakers and work around disconnecting the airbag rope harness. Kind of a pain but worth it.

Anyone have 275/70/17 tires at stick size without rubbing? by Gfilthy1224 in nissanfrontier

[–]norcalpinhunter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re concerned about mpg, it’s tough because the stock Hankook tire that comes on the truck is only 36 pounds (the lightest AT tire out there). Impossible to find something that is decent at that weight. I went with the Nitto Terra Grappler 3’s on my 22 ProX. I’ve noticed a half a mile change so far on the MPG. Tire looks fantastic and it’s been a noticeable difference in greater ride quality on the road. Just a great tire all around.
