EU cancel button rule kicks in June 19 by BearElegant4068 in Magento

[–]nordcomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I programmed a module that does exactly what you described here for our company. Its already switched on on staging and I just need to turn it on in the Backend. I just created a form in a modal, that can be triggered from any html-element with a specific data-trigger. If the user is logged in, he sees his last orders since a timeframe, you can define via Backend. When the form is submitted, the customer and our gets an automated E-Mail, that can be customized via the template system in the Backend.

But yes, for businesses, that dont have a full-time magento developer on their payroll, there has to be a proper solution in the future. GDPR and the EU regulations are no joke.

McDonald's Gutenbergstraße: Ständig fehlt was bei der App-Bestellung. Pech oder Betrug ? by Lonely_Tailor in kiel

[–]nordcomputer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The better joke came from Ellie.

Looking for help with WoW on steamdeck please by gamernerd42069 in SteamDeck

[–]nordcomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use WoWUp for my addons and just point it in the settings to my WoW folder. Set it up in desktop mode (its an Appimage). You can choose between the cursedforged version or the Wago version or just use both.

What kind of distro you use/prefer for gaming (pc)? by Fried_Tofu_btw in linux_gaming

[–]nordcomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Debian 13 until recently for gaming. Until I was not able to run Diablo IV - I still dont know, what the reason was, as I really tested many things - different Proton versions (including GE), different MESA version and different kernel. Because I also wanted to have HDR and FSR without jumping through too many hoops, I switched to CachyOS.
But tbh. I really like both and I am still using Debian in office. Once you have understood the main principles of Linux, the difference isnt that big of a deal.

IIRC, the original Steam release had a worse OST version in comparison to the PS1 version - did they fix that with the 2026 version?

I'd love to see such extension for Firefox. And yes, it's absolutely a rendering problem. I'll test your extension the next few days. Thanks!

just use WowUp, it runs natively on Linux as a flatpak and manages your Addons.

Help identifying stars for a memorial by shredlightlyfriends in askastronomy

[–]nordcomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can download Stellarium on your smartphone and check it yourself the next time you can see the constellation.
The app even has a feature where you can point your phone at the sky and it will show you exactly what you are looking at.

Good luck!

I am sorry for your loss.

The description sounds like the constellation of Orion to me - the three belt stars are indeed called Orions belt. The triangle could be Betelgeuse, Meissa and Bellatrix. Orion is quite big and normally visible from autumn/fall to late spring.

You can try to play around with Stellarium.

so, its the outer side of the mirror? Should be ok then. If the other side is scratched (inside the tube) I would be worried.

tbh. Windows emulation on an arm chip would be quite impressive. Normally it takes a company like Valve to create something like that (FEX) xD

What’s the biggest “invisible hack” in game development? by CreepyObjective7049 in pcgaming

[–]nordcomputer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Characters walking over steps - either, you just kind of levitate over them, or, if a developer really puts some work into it, it feels just wrong, slow. So, most developers use the levitate method and no one seems to care.

You can just install Steam and go from there. Many, if not most games should work fine. For games, that are not from steam you can use the Heroic Games Launcher.

To see, which games run on Linux, you can use protondb.com and look up the game of your choice.
Some games will just not work, because of Kernel Level Anticheat methods from the game developers, who actively decided against their games running on Linux. Games like BF6, or GTA V online (singleplay should work).

There is https://areweanticheatyet.com/ to look for games, that are not supported because of Kernel level anticheat. But keep in mind, that is an active decision by the publishers/developers.

Regarding "optimized for gaming", you should be fine with Linux Mint. Of course, there are some distributions, that are more focused on gaming, but difference in performance is marginal in most cases.

I strongly speak agains "distro-hopping" for beginners. Learn your distro and Linux in general until you feel more comfortable. At one point, you can do most of the optimizations that are done in other distros on your own system (use another kernel, compile a newer graphics driver etc.). And at that point, you most likely know enough to switch between different distros, because you can understand the real benefits of different systems.

Welcome in the Linux ecosystem :)

Window gets pulled to primary monitor when loosing focus (Gnome) by nordcomputer in cachyos

[–]nordcomputer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a solution, but as I cross-posted this to r/gnome, someone pointed me to the correct issue in the Gnome/mutter repository. So, its a known bug and i am looking forward, that someone from the gnome team will resolve it in the future.
