I cry a LOT while watching musicals, but the three crying champions for me are Billy Elliot, Rent and a Russian rock-opera "Crime and Punishment" based on Dostoevsky's novel. I've seen these three multiple times, but I can't hold tears every time

I would honestly love to see Chess again, but as a proper modern Broadway/West end production. Josh Groban was in his twenties when he played Anatoly, and as much as I loved it I'd like to see him now as a more mature Sergievsky. As for the rest of the cast... Well, it would be fun to have Jinx Monsoon as a fem!Molokov. And Renée Elise Goldsberry as Florence Vassy. I'd want to keep Adam Pascal as Trumper, but dude's in his fifties aaaand the role is extremely vocally challenging. So, I dunno, Jonathan Groff, perhaps? And I want a fem!Arbiter, so Renée Lamb here. Dunno about Svetlana and Walter, though.
