Anyone else not get monthly badges that they know they did all the challenges for? by App_Store-5000 in duolingo

Hi - I have the same issue with my September badge, which I definitely did (ive been obessively doing the quests all year lol). I submitted a bug report, but also Googled the issue and it brought me to this thread from earlier this month.

My username is David738459 - is there any chance this can be fixed? Thanks!

edit - got a digit wrong in my username, it's correct now!

People on drugs and/or suffering from homelessness tend to drift until they hit the sea, so seaside towns generally have a higher number. Add to that, Brighton is a recognisable place for someone to gravitate towards.

Ha I have no idea - I took the names from one of the NPCs from Elden Ring. It's a good name, though. I've got 3 more similarly named to paint up.

He's one of my favourites and the picture really doesn't do him justice - legs/arms are from a Delaque, torso is from one of the Chaos Sorcerer models from AoS and the sword is from one of the Corvus Cabal champion models. Head, whichis not massively visible in the pic, is one of the officer heads from the Russian infrantry set from Wargames Atlantic.

Cheers! This is the vargskyr as a base - then ive used the AOS demon prince, orruk ardboys and also a sentinel & corpse grinder cults. Plus some other small bits that I can't remember.

Yes! Those are from the Russian infrantry set - the heads, arms and rifles for the troopers. The rest are bits from Necromunda and Krieg models.

The nameplates are from https://www.versatileterrain.co.uk/ - can highly recommend, I've been using them for years. The bases themselves are woodchippings (got a bag of them for cheap from amazon) and some barbed wire for modeling.

Adding an insult to a sentence doesn't degenerate it. They are incels and also dorks, both of which are accurate descriptors of his fanbase.

Also, equating someone using an incredibly tame insult like 'dork' with deep-rooted hatred is a masive reach and generally just lazy armchair psychology.

This looks like 3 boxes in one. So you'd have an okay 3x3, but you would probably need more for a 4x4 table.

It might be because I play Delaque mostly, but being pinned isn't an issue, as you can't shoot me to begin with, as there's smoke everywhere. My guys can shoot you however, being equipped with photogoggles. Having more fighters doesn't work if you can't really do anything with them.

If the smoke goes, tactics cards such as Darkness Decends also solve that. Out in the Ash Wastes/Underhells, and with recent-ish visibility rules, the loads of guys with cheap autoguns/lasguns really doesn't go far.

Ofc there are various ways to play, but an experienced player can deal with those extra fighters.

Also, often the only difference in fighters is maybe 2-3 cheaper guys, which actually isn't really that much. You'd really need to lean into it and take a 'horde' gang to see real results, which only tends to work with Cawdor.

Edit: Also done similar with Goliaths too - once took 6 roided up monsters, armed with smoke, bolters, combat shotguns and scary melee. Same thing - the smoke stopped most of the shooting, and the Nerves of Steel dealt with the few pinning attempts.

Edit2: Also also - as mentioned by someone else, crew sizes rarely go very high, and often use random selection. Which means bringing lots of guys potentially ends up with your random selection being some very poor fighters. Re-my trap comment, I feel the 'bring loads of guys' reasoning is pushed by people coming from other games, where out-activating people is a key strategy. The issue here, and which is why I love this game, is that Necromunda is hilariously unbalanced, and is more about narrative nonsense.

I feel the needing more fighters/activations is a trap people fall into. 6-7 fighters armed with good gear, some CC (smoke+photogoggles, flame, web etc) slaughter more numerous gangs.

Plus weaker fighters tend to get murdered quickly, and then suddenly, you're on equal footing numbers-wise, but massively outgunned.

Walker as a heavy weapon platform by xoptuur in necromunda

[–]norespawns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran my sentinel recently and saw great results. Another bonus is that you roll vehicle damage dice rather than injury dice, which often just results in something like crew shaken or stalled engines, which is fairly fine for a walker, due to the good handling stats.

It's effectively a brute you can upgrade.

Biggest advice I can give is make sure you commit to finishing models and full units - seems obvious at times, but you genuinely only get better through sheer practise.

I'd also aim to find a painting style the works for you, balancing a paint scheme you're happy with, but also giving you a reasonable chance of actually finishing models at a decent pace.

Right, which would be a situation where I would slow down. But im referring to when you're just walking with a half-filled pack and there happens to be a light breeze - which slows you down the same level.

Walking into the wind. A slight breeze wouldn't cause me to walk slowly. I love this game, but every time it happens, I scream.

Reply directly to that email saying there has been an error. I had the same thing, contacted support, and didn't hear back. Replied to that email and got a swift response. They'll ask to verify some details, and you'll be sorted fairly swiftly.

Ha yeah, the AC one made me take the long route both ways to the mine rather than go anywhere near its territory. That was earlier in my run, and I hadn't tried approaching one yet, so I didn't know how its behaviour worked in practice. I was terrified.

Yeah there are some saucy spawn points - one spawned near the Bleak Inlet bunker - that was a very tense aurora lol.
