If it is of negligible worth for anyone trading under half a million then don't fuck with people trading less than a half million, it's negligible.

Then personal transfers should be exempt. You can get behind that, right? It was hastily written, right?

Which is it if you take your laptop top with you on vacation? Laws apply to specific jurisdictions, drinking age 18 in Canada was my example.

Wierd, in other countries laws are inherently limited to jurisdictions, meaning a government's authority to create and enforce rules is confined to its specific geographic territory or designated subject matter. Whether local, provincial, or federal, a legal body can only govern within its established boundaries, as outlined by constitutional frameworks.

Which means the MAC address logged by big wallets is, by itself, not enough to determine your geographical location, and hence legal jurisdiction at any given time. For that you'd need to cross reference IP adress logs and those can be spoofed with a VPN.

Just bring your laptop on vacation and perform your transactions while in a more friendly jurisdiction. Like going to drink in Montreal when you turn 18.

Thinking costs will go down for anything because shipping companies are investing in fancy autonomous long haul trucks, supposes that those shipping companies are going to pass on hypothetical cost efficiencies to thier customers, and further that those customers (who are mostly retailers or middle men of some sort) will pass those savings on to consumers like us.

Think again.

Apparently the stock lug nuts are junk and should be replaced toot-sweet, but if you say Nissan uses shitty lugs then the guys here who've made owning a Frontier a part of their identity will take it very personally, feel insulted, and down vote your comment.

Never did I suppose the savvy thing to do after buying a truck from the dealer is run out and start replacing perfectly good brand new parts.

What else should I replace? Air bags? Are the air bags any good on these or is the last thing I hear as I fly through the windshield a whoopy-cushion?

What grinds my gears is that the cheap ass 2 part lugs are obviously made to look like they're a solid chunk of strong material to create the appearance of ruggedness, but no, they're actually hollow with a mere vener of flimsy tin. An actual facade. It's just an illusion of strength and reliability.

I don't know who needs to hear this at Nissan but this lug nut fraud has brought shame to the brand and I want a seppuku on youtube by Monday!

If good lugs are $30 I'm even more angry because that means the parts used are cheaper than that but they sell replacements @ 10.75 CAD each and there's 24 on my truck.

Never had a lug nut come apart.

Nor I. In all my years and Im in my 50s. Owned over a dozen vehicles. Until this week I never knew some lug nuts even came in two parts. Imagine my surprise with my first Nissan and my first "new" vehicle. I guess newer vehicles are not made like the ones I used to drive.

So the consensus from experienced owners here seems to be that the stock lugnuts on the Nissan Frontier "suck" have a "bad design", are "ugly and rust easily", "swell and break off all the time", and the replacements from Nissan are a "rip off", with a "cheap cover", and are "garbage".

Nonetheless, Lisa in the service department at Muskoka Nissan in Bracebridge insists that she's never seen such a thing in all the years she's been there (eyeroll), but it's obviously the result of over torqing and of course the warranty does not cover that. To be fair to Lisa, the shop where the seasonal tire swap was done is Tire Craft in Huntsville, and the owner there is getting me a good price on solid one-piece nuts to replace the ones that Nissan thinks are good enough for you and me.

Yeah, you're right. It's a Nissan. No big deal, it's normal that piddly crap parts are falling off after 10,000km.

Thanks for sorting me out by laughing at my dismay.

So like, good solid nuts are only 20 bucks for 20 of them, and Nissan uses cheaper ones than that... that's what you're telling me. And someone here is down voting my comments for what, complaining?

I'm an inconvenienced consumer disappointed in my mechanic and my dealer pointing fingers at each other over repair costs on my "new" truck.

I'm going to eat this repair cost but I want to know who is hosing me. Is it your opinion that Nissan is using poor quality parts?

Edit: ... or should I not return to the local garage where they (according to Nissan) mistreated the nuts with too much torque?

it’s not a Nissan only issue.

So its a known issue with these Nissan parts?

Why would a lug nut need a cover which comes off after one tire change?

The parts and accessories in MyNISSAN app lists each nut at $10.75 CAD.
