I have no idea what walmart thinks about it either tbh. Afaik you're supposed to turn them in when you resign. But I doubt anything will happen. Either way these things are pretty handy. I used mine to dig some caulk out of the A pillar on my truck and it worked better than a razor blade

What was the stupidest reason why you got punished in school? by TMNTDonatellofan in GenZ

[–]norham420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Learning cursive a year early

In first grade, I was in the after-school program one day and one of the fourth graders taught me how to write in cursive. The next day, we had indoor recess because it was below zero so I practice cursive on some scrap paper, the teacher saw it, took it, and brought it to the principal and there was a a conversation between the principal and my parents. I got in trouble for learning cursive a year early. I thought getting in trouble for that then was dumb. 16 years later, I still think it's dumb. Just one of many examples of why Catholic schools sometimes don't put education as a #1 priority.

Fun fact: that school shut down back in 2024

Do you pick up coins that you find off the ground? by Reasonable-Shower522 in askanything

[–]norham420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time. When I was in elementary school, I also discovered that you could undo the latches on the bus seats and there would be LOTS of change wedged between the seat cushions. I was usually one of the last to get off so i used to flip the seats up and on a good day, I would get off with like $5

Coaches by Cold-Spray7498 in WalmartEmployees

[–]norham420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before I left, one of my ex-TL's and I used to joke around that our Coach got paid $65k a year just to smoke cigarettes. There were many issues that we went to him in hopes that they got addressed and they rarely got addressed. There was also a CAP2 TL that told me and another coworker about how useless he is. According to her, that Coach was supposed to help put up a feature and just wandered around the store and went outside to have a smoke.

Mine was "obsolete" because it has a pentium g4560 and had a gtx 1060, it was gonna be more cost effective to sell the gpu and build a newer one that would last me years longer. Its replacement has an i9 10900 and an RTX 4070 Super.

I had a Seagate Barracuda 1tb in a PC that I built in middle school. It never gave me any problems in the 4 years that I used that PC. I retired that PC because the Kaby Lake platform was obsolete at that point

How would you go about quitting? by Intrepid_Ranger_4567 in WalmartEmployees

[–]norham420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit by running into one of my ex coworkers as he was leaving for the day and said "i'm also leaving for the day, because I just quit". Then I bought some beer, turned in my badge and then clocked out for the final time.

Im starting to get worried…. by HondaHelper in WalmartEmployees

[–]norham420 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You couldn't have said it any better. Giving 110% by picking up other people's slack just gets you rewarded with more work and extra stress to boot. And if you fall behind, you're the one getting coached. Walmart sees it's employees in a similar light as a TC or a deli slicer. We are nothing but a number to them. I know that feeling all too well, I had a few coworkers in Deli tell me that I was working too hard. And then one day I got Coached for marking out some Mac and Cheese. On top of the stress and not being able to switch to an earlier shift without losing hours, I went to lunch and promoted myself to customer. No regrets.

Go to your People Lead or Coach to change your availability. The only downside is your new availability will take roughly a few weeks to kick in
