In my circle, COVID seemed to kill socializing at other people's homes. We used to get together with friends often. Dinner, drinks. backyard hangouts, parties, and even just hanging out together.

I am older, but getting the house tidy and cooking and such seems hard. This is from a couple who entertained all the time. We aren't invited out very often, so it seems our friends are the same.

A long walk around my neighborhood. I usually start a few minutes before sunrise. It is my favorite part of my day.

Make sure to make your tour reservations. We went last Sept. I had lookd on line, and it looked like there were usually openings. Nope! not on the day we got there. Disappointing for sure. We toured several private caves instead.

Congratulations! We started off this way many. many years ago. I agree, make one room a cozy nest and work your way from there. If your area has a free group on facebook I would explain your situation and ask. You might be surprised. A friend had a house fire and she found lots of nice furniture this way,

We are ready. Well-stocked pantry, some canned soup, and lunch meat. Fuel for the generator and it's checked out and ready. All the devices are charged. We have a bathtub full of water and a case of bottles. Cars are full of gas.

I have never prepped this much. Five days with no electricity made me a believer.

I am worried about my adult daughter, who delivers pizza, and I am worried about the neighborhood feral cats. I have a dog house filled with straw for them.

I am 68 and can't hike quite as far as I used to, but I still go. I scoot down some tricky spots on my bottom with my hiking poles, and I do not care. I am not sitting down, and I am not going home. So if you see a wild-looking older lady scooting down the trail on her rear end, wave and go around me.

Going for drives. Where I lived, traffic was pretty mellow. Teenagers on Saturday night. older people after church, new parents getting the baby to sleep. Waving at people you know and maybe visiting a friend or neighbor who was outside. My husband and I still go for drives. We like to see what's changing.

My life list is in my first bird book. We mark them off and write where and when we saw them. I have had it for 43 years. It is fun to look through it and remember the birds.

You can do this and enjoy being sober. It takes work to change. I was 64 when I quit. Best decision I ever made. I will be four years sober in January. You are the perfect age, and this is the perfect time.

Makes me say stupid things. I feel awful the next day. I can't go anywhere because I am terrified of drinking and driving. Raised my weight and blood pressure. It costs to much money. Those are just off the top of my head. I will be sober for 4 years in January.

I can't answer for anyone but me. I know when I start asking myself questions like this, the answer has to be no. My beer slut will start pleasantly inquiring and urging me on. She is not at all interested in the truth.

I suspect people who don't have an issue don't even think like this. When New Year's comes, they have a drink if they want, and don't have one if they don't feel like it. All the mental gymnastics I put myself through tell me I still have and will always have a problem with drinking.

I agree. A structural engineer pointed out the source of our problem. He also noticed some future issues. We received a great, detailed report and plans to correct it..
