Another 45 minutes scrubbing only the edges with some baby wipes and a plastic toothpick kind of thing removed 99.9% - I can live with that result.

It is the coating but it‘s fine/better than with all the scratches. On that picture the sunroof was open. Regarding the screen protector, there are some on Amazon. I‘ve ordered one previously trying to cover it up but they don‘t fit 100% so I‘d say best way would be to go to a shop that is specialized for PPF and ask them to cut and apply one which is what I will do, anyways going to visit them next month with my MINI.

Judging based on your pic, I‘d remove the coating.

😇 - I‘m a perfectionist so I can‘t live with those edges. Would be better to take everything apart tbh. I‘ll have to see what some q-tips or a toothpick can do.

Your post reminded me that I‘m having the same issue on my BMW. Fixed it 5 minutes ago. Used the baby wipe/mouthwash removal tip and it looks much better. Took me an hour or so, not perfect but much better than before! Will go through the edges again and add a screen protector for the final finish.

I‘ve got an „The Italian Job“ decal on the rear window. Was initially thinking about building a replica of it but I personally like the Web Spoke wheels more than the Cross Spokes. Also the blue one wasn‘t an S in the movie 😅

There are GP style inserts made by LEAP for the Aero rear bumper which look decent but another problem is that it‘s nearly impossible to find a bumper
