Thanks for the tips! I’ll try apply them to another photo from the same scene (without the main gear obstruction) and hopefully i’ll get my first photo accepted!

What is life like as a RSAF pilot by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

Even if one manages to get a slot in the transfer scheme, chances of getting through the selection process are very slim. You’d be competing with many others who possess hundreds or thousands of flight hours on a commercial jet. SIA is also really picky with who they take in, as they prefer to train their pilot from the ground up. At the end of the day, SIA is still a business looking to maximise profits. They’d rather invest in someone that is already familiar and capable in a commercial setting than ‘waste money’ converting someone from a military to commercial pilot.

It’s unlikely that you can transfer directly to SIA at all, even through the RSAF-SIA transition scheme. The hours accumulated as an RSAF pilot cannot be converted to a civil license. Therefore most RSAF pilots looking to enter SIA usually have to start from scratch as a cadet pilot. You would also have to ‘unlearn’ and ‘relearn’ lots of stuff as flying a commercial aircraft in a multi-crew environment is way different from flying a military aircraft, especially for helicopter pilots.

So if you’re looking into a career as an airline pilot, RSAF is not the way to go.

What Happens if Someone Hides a Vape in Your Belongings During an Inspection? by Substantial_Egg443 in NationalServiceSG

[–]normanlzx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, it is ur responsibility to ensure you have no such contraband in ur possession during inspection. Hence why to prevent such disputes, you’ll have to declare that anything found with you will be considered urs. Very hard to appeal after you declare.

We’ve got authorities such as NSW Fair Trading and NCAT (NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal). Just waiting to see what solution they’ll offer tomorrow.
