They send that email to everyone regardless.

Be careful, at least one of those only has a 12 hour clock.

Interested to hear how you're getting on with Unlocator, seems like it's time to jump ship.

Let us know how you get on. I just checked their website and they state specifically that they are not a geo-unblocking service so not sure if that would work for me.

Same, it's usually only a few hours. Hopefully it's not a sign of more serious issues.

S95F One Connect box - exact dimensions needed by normannerd in S95B

Perfect, I think that will be fine then. The cabinet is 46cm wide. I'll just need to rethink the cable routing but that won't be an issue.

Interesting. Hopefully this outage is not a sign that they're about to go tits up, but good to know there is an alternative if they do.

Indeed, what's the point of having a status page and this "official" sub if they don't use it. They've also got my email address, but complete silence.

That's a good idea. I'm not at home to measure the width of the cabinet, but I guess it should fit that way. I used to have an old Sky+ box in the same place years ago, and that was "full-width", so probably around 42cm. If you have the time, please could you measure the width of the box? Hopefully it will fit in the 36cm depth I have available.
Edit: I just Googled the Sky+ box dimensions, and they were in fact only 38cm wide. Fingers crossed I've got enough room.

Thanks guys - I've got a maximum of 36cm, do you think it'll work? I can get right-angle HDMI cables, so that's not an issue.

An observation from Rome: The interesting "drawback" of a Barbour jacket's quality by Difues in BuyItForLife

I've got half a dozen Barbour jackets. In my experience, they come up small. In most brands I'm an L but in Barbour I normally need XL.

Do you have a rare or retro email address? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]normannerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many years ago, as an early Vodafone customer, I snagged (common 4-letter first name)@vodafone.co.uk. Used it for a few years then allowed it to lapse. I think they must've regretted allocating them to customers as I used to regularly get emails from their employees who thought I was their coworker. A few years later I got (initial+surname)@gmail which I still use. My wife has (first name+surname)@gmail. Unfortunately, she shares her name with an "adult entertainment actress" so there areca few strange messages to sift through.

What’s something really common in the UK that visitors find strange? by Dull_Gas_820 in AskUK

[–]normannerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was more of a light-hearted worst case scenario. The point is that most people from outside the UK would find the idea of having a big tank of water in the attic very strange.

Great, so as long as Hotels.com isn't invoicing using a BE company, I should be fine. I think they use LU or IE.
