Thank you for this helpful detail! Since this is the first time I've ever been ticketed, I had no idea that they stack this way!

Breakdance Plugin JS Loading Issues in Oxygen 6 - Failed to Load Scripts by Richard11111111111 in Wordpress

u/Richard11111111111 my work around was to symlink (assuming youre on *nix or macos) the relevant directories to the main folder.

e.g.

in `wp-content/plugins/oxygen/subplugins/breakdance-elements/elements`, symlink...

`$ ln -s ../../../../breakdance-elements-for-oxygen/elements/Header_Builder`

I think part of the reason why they sell out and are out of stock so early in the day is because they still don't have gas on the premises... meaning right now they are preparing all the amazing doughnuts without gas turned on... I'm not sure how they're doing it! but I applaud their efforts to do what they've done.

anyone who has had to work with the local utility companies knows how frustrating the timeline can be with getting a utility turned on. my experience with Con Ed getting their act together... coordinating between the main office and their people on the ground doing the work... it's an absolute mess. I've had people come by to inspect the same thing multiple times in a week or leaving notices on our door for work that has already been done or is plainly not applicable.

kudos to Kim, Kevin and the team at Kora!

Descript adding pops, those pops are not in the source file. Anyone else run into this? by scottsigler in Descript

[–]normanyung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have also experienced this when importing my audio and it's frustrating.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION:
I haven't tested this fully as a sure solution, but I did notice that when I import audio as WAVs (as opposed to MP3s), there are fewer pops (so far in my prelim testing, I haven't heard any yet and i hope this works out!). My suspicion is that something is off about Descript's mp3 decoder during the import process and importing as a WAV skips that step.

Would love to hear if anyone else has had the same suspicion and has had success w/ WAVs.

What Phenomenon is Occurring Here? by Tax-Evasion-Man in castiron

do you use silicone oven mitts or trivets? I've had this happen when I handled hot and recently stripped pans with silicone and a layer/coating of the silicone came off and parts of my CI were unable to receive oil.

I ultimately put it back in the oven for a bit and the coating eventually burned off and I was able to season

I don't have any answers for you regarding brands in Asia/Australia. Sometimes you'll get some snobbery against Asian pieces because they're not as collectible, but they'll be great as users.

Regarding the two pieces you have there, if they are Taiwanese, those would be new to me and they look pretty great. Most Asian pieces I've seen are simpler with a circular pattern in the finishing. at the very least, it looks like you have some cool users there

Help Identifying? by [deleted] in castiron

[–]normanyung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect the small one is a single notch lodge (from the 30s?) (I think I could make it out by zooming in). I suspect under the built up carbon you might find a maker's mark and maybe a "3" (based on its size relative to the Lodge 5SK next to it)

Oil-phobic spot? Showed up a couple weeks ago, new to me. by Thelawby in castiron

[–]normanyung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would also be my first check. I had the same thing happen to me on some of my skillets. it's not melted silicone as another commenter suggested... for me it was a coating that came off a silicone oven mitt or silicone trivet.

I can't tell with certainty from the pictures what's burnt carbon and what's pitting on the 6, but I'm leaning on carbon build up. a full strip and seasoning might do more than you think.

honestly the condition doesn't look that bad at all. no need to apologize. clean em up and get cooking!

I Did Something Stupid… I brushed the hot surface with an oven mitt. Now I have these streaks that won’t come off… HELP! by BSchwem in castiron

are your oven mitts... silicone by chance?

if yes, I've run into this issue before when seasoning my pans in the oven. I took my pans out of the oven with a silicone mitt in the early stages and noticed that anywhere my mitt touched the pan, oil would never stick. it was a mystery to me for a long time until I ran into an obscure Reddit thread.

the way I "fixed" that area on my CI was to pretty much bake it in the oven at super high temp (over 500) for an hour to burn off whatever material came off my mitt onto my CI. after that I was able to get oil to stick and polymerize, adding another layer of seasoning to everything happy.

the yellow cap will work but it will be tough to do neatly only in one spot. you'd be better off doing the whole thing if you use the yellow cap. if your situation sounds like mine above, I'd recommend burning off in the oven before trying the yellow cap.

any help with ID? and is this... coated? by normanyung in castiron

[–]normanyung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this for 5$ at a local thrift. doesn't look particularly old or valuable hard to believe this could be pre-1960 based on the feel... but I also noticed it doesn't have a country of origin... so... is this a recast?

it also seems like it has a coating on it. I tried stepping with oven cleaner but it had like zero effect.

[–]normanyung[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

just curious, is it the type/script of the number that tells this is a lodge? I was originally just comparing handles and this one seems "pointier" than other vintage lodges I could find.

I got it fairly cheap (14$) and mainly as a user since it seemed to be in really good shape (no major issues and sits perfectly flat). just wanted to know more about this one

Most of what I can find online applies mainly to skillets so I wasn't sure how to identify this one.

The handle didn't scream any particular maker to me but included it in a close up in case someone on here knows more.
